10、e latest issue of EIA5200000, “Generic Specification for Special-use Electrochemical Switches of Certified Quality . 1.0 1.1 e 1.2 2.0 2.1 e SECTION ONE - SCOPE AND OBJECT Scope The Dual In-line Machine Insertable Switches of certified quality covered by this Detail Specification: 1.1.1 Have maximum
11、 enclosure dimensions of 33.02 mm (1.300 inch) long, 10.16 (0.400) wide and 14.06 (0.554) high. 1.1.2 Have a maximum rated voltage of 50 Vdc. 1.1.3 Have a.maximum rated current of 100 mA. 1.1.4 Have slide actuators that are raised above, or recessed below, the top surface of the switch. 1.1.5 Are se
12、aled against the entrance of soldering flux and cleaning solutions during the process of assembly to circuit boards. Object The object of this Detail Specification is to provide all information required for the identification, quality assessment, and certification of these switches. The information,
13、 contained herein or by reference, is complete and sufficient for inspection purposes. SECTION TWO - GENERAL The related documents, units, symbols, terminology and markings are prescribed in Section Two of Sectional Specification EIA 520E000, and General Speci- fication EIA 5200000, and the followin
14、g additional requirements: 2.5.1 Switches shall be marked so as to identify the state of the contacts with respect to the actuation position (e.g., “ON“ on appropriate side, a round dot on the closed contact side, etc.). 16、 by the following information: 3.1.1 Qualification Inspection Tests: The qualification tests are prescribed in Table I herein for the qualification of the entire subfamily of switches covered by this Detail Specification. Qualification switches must have 8 poles. 3.4.6 Lot-By-Lot Inspection Tests: T
17、he lot-by-lot inspection tests are prescribed in Table II herein. 3.4.7 Periodic Inspection Tests: The periodic inspection tests are prescribed in Table III herein. 4.0 SECTION FOUR - TEST METHODS AM) REQUIREMENTS 4.1 General The test methods and requirements are prescribed in Section Four of Generi
18、c Specification EIA 5200000, Section Four of Sectional Specification EIA 520E000, and are supplemented by the following information: 4.1.6 Switches with tape top seals shall be supplied with contacts in the closed position and seals in place for Group A, the solderability test of Group B, and the ma
19、chine soldering test of Group C of Qualification Test Table I. These seais may be removed for all other qualification tests. Insulation resistance and voltage proof measuremenuin Group A only will be made between adjacent poles (the closed circuit prevents taking these readings across open contacts)
20、. 4 4.5.1 EIA SZ-QEAAD 90. m 3234b00 0073587 5 m EIA-52OEAAD Page 3 Switch Resistance Contact resistance is to be measured between the two terminals associated with each switch pole, and shall not exceed 50 milliohms initially and in Qualification Groups A and C, and 100 milliohms in Qualification G
21、roups B, D, E and Periodic Test Group B. 4.5.2. 4.6.1 4.8.1 4.9.1 4.11.1 4.19 4.24 Insulation Resistance Insulation resistance shall be measured at 100 5 5 Vdc, and at stan- dard atmospheric conditions. Insulation resistance shall not be less than 1000 megohms. Voltage Proof Voltage proof measuremen
22、ts shall be made with an applied voltage of 500 Vac (rms). Maximum allowable leakage current is 500 microamperes. The switch shall withstand the test voltage without sustained arcing, breakdown, or damage to insulation. Vibration Vibration testing shall be in accordance with EIA 186-8 Type III. Stre
23、ngth of Terminations Strength of terminations shall be tested in accordance with EIA-186-6 with a 1.1 pound load on a minimum of three randomly selected terminals on each specimen. Electrical Endurance The electrical endurance test shall be run with one-half of the specimens tested in accordance wit
24、h Test 8-4 (logic load) and one-half of the specimens tested in accordance with Test 8-5 (low level load). The number of cycles shall be 2000, and no sticks or misses are allowed. Capacitance The maximum allowable capacitance shall be 5 picofarads. Machine Soldering The machine soldering test shall
25、be run in accordance with EIA-448-2 Method 16 and with Method A fluxing (touching body), a soldering time of no less than four seconds, and cleaning by immersion and spray (all four solutions in each case). After the test, there shall be good solder connections, no externally visible indication of l
26、eakage, contact resistance shall be in accordance with 4.5.1, and insulation resistance shall be in accordance with 4.5.2, and all marking shall be readable.
