22、cycurrent,andpressingtheedgestogether.Theelectriccurrentmaybe appliedeitherbydirectelectrodecontactorbyinduction.EN10266:2003(E) 5 2.9 submergedarcweldedtube(SAW) tubemadebyformingeitherhotorcoldahollowprofilefromstriporplateandweldingtheadjacent edgestogether,withoutpressure,byadditionoffillermetal

23、.Theadjacentedgesandthefillermetalare heatedtoweldingtemperaturebyanarcgeneratedbytheresistancetothepassageofanelectric current.Thearcgeneratedandthemoltenmetalareprotectedfromatmosphericcontaminationbythe presenceofalayerofflux. Thetubesmayhaveoneortwolongitudinalseamwelds(SAWL)oronehelicalseamweld

24、(SAWH)with atleastonepassontheinsideofthetubeandatleastonepassontheoutsideofthetube. 2.10 combinationweldedtube(COW) tubemadebyformingeitherhotorcoldahollowprofilefromstriporplateandweldingtheadjacent edgestogether,withoutpressure,byadditionoffillermetal.Thefirstpassismadebyacontinuousgas metalarcwe
