2、l forewordThis British Standard is the UK implementation of EN 3383:2012. WARNING: Retaining rings conforming to BS EN 3383:2012 have cadmium as plating material. Cadmium has been restricted and/or banned in many countries owing to environmental and health concerns and should not be used on new prod

3、uct designs. Health and safety officials such as surface treatment experts serving aerospace equipment service areas or aerospace product design areas should be consulted about any concerns on using cadmium-plated parts.The UK participation in its preparation was entrusted to Technical Committee ACE

4、/12, Aerospace fasteners and fastening systems.A list of organizations represented on this committee can be obtained on request to its secretary.This publication does not purport to include all the necessary provisions of a contract. 18、andard defines the characteristics of axial mounting internal retaining rings, in steel, vacuum cadmium plated, for aerospace applications. The cadmium plating restricts the use at temperatures not exceeding 235 C. 2 Normative references The following documents, in whole or in part, are normatively
