35、ation“23BS EN 60958-1:2008+A1:2014 60958-1 IEC:2008+A1:2014(E) 6 DIGITALAUDIO INTERFACE Part 1: General 1 Scope This part of IEC 60958 describes a serial, uni-directional, self-clocking interface for theinterconnection of digital audio equipm ent forconsumerand professional applications.It provides

36、the basic structure of the interface. Separate documents define items specific toparticular applications.The interface is primarily intended to carrymonophonic or stereophonic programmes,encoded using linear PCM and witha resolution of up to 24 bits per sample.When used for other purposes, the inter

37、face is able to carry audio data coded other than aslinear PCM coded audio samples. Provision is also made to allow the interface to carry datarelatedto computer softwareor signals coded usingnon-linearPCM. Theformat specification forthese applications is not partof thisstandard. The interface is in
