11、n taken over as EN ISO 14680-2:2006 by Technical Committee CEN/TC 139 “Paints and varnishes“, the secretariat of which is held by DIN. This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of an identical text or by endorsement, at the latest by August 2006,

12、and conflicting national standards shall be withdrawn at the latest by August 2006. 21、es andrelatedproducts. Itspecifiesamethodfordeterminingthepigmentcontentofpaintsinwhichtheproductundertestisashed.The methodisnotapplicabletocoatingmaterialscontainingaluminium,organicpigmentsand/ordyestuffs,orinorganic pigmentstreatedwithorganiccompounds.Suchconstituents,whichcouldmakeupabout10%oft

22、hepigment,will belostduringashing. Asthestateofmanypigmentsandextenderschangesunderthespecifiedtestconditions,itwilldependonthe compositionandthechosenashingtemperaturewhethertheactualpigmentcontentoftheproductundertestcan bededucedfromtheapparentpigmentcontentfoundbythismethod. Themethodisgenerally

23、notsuitableforUVpaintsandvarnishesorthosecontainingreactivediluentsrequiring specialheatingconditions. Thepigmentcontentofcoatingmaterialscanalsobedeterminedbyacentrifugemethod(seeISO14680-1)orbya filtrationmethod(seeISO14680-3). 2 Normativereferences Thefollowingnormativedocumentscontainprovisionsw

28、ashedeitheratabout600C to900C,orat450Cinthepresenceofcarbonates.Thepresenceofcarbonateshouldbedeterminedbysome other,qualitativeanalyticaltechnique.Thepigmentcontentiscalculatedfromthemassoftheignitionresidueand thatofthetestportion. NOTE Somebindersarenotfullyashedat450C.Theresultobtainedatthattemp

29、eraturemaythereforehavepoor repeatability. 5 Apparatus Ordinarylaboratoryapparatusandglassware,togetherwiththefollowing: 5.1 Porcelaincrucible,tallform. 5.2 Dryingoven,withforcedventilation,capableofbeingmaintainedat(80 2)C.Theairflowshallbe horizontal. WARNINGAtthetemperatureused,organicsolventcanf

Calculatethemeanoftwovalidresults(replicates)andreportthetestresulttothenearest0,1%bymass. 9 Precision 9.1 Repeatability,r Thevaluebelowwhichtheabsolutedifference
