SCOPE The material defined by this specification is a filled polyether urethane foam, with up to 25% (by weight) reground foam, cast to the desired configuration. 2. APPLICATION This specification wa
3、s released originally for material used in the upper cowl area of the 1983 Escort/Lynx molded dash absorber. The foam shall not be used in direct contact with metal temperatures exceeding 121 C. Metal contact temperatures or exposure temperatures that exceed 121 C shall employ sufficient insulation
4、to insure that the foam is exposed to less than 121 C. This material is not recommended for use in areas which are subjected to repeated load deflections. 3. REQUIREMENTS Material specification requirements are to be used for initial qualification of materials. The test values listed herein are base
5、d on samples taken from parts. 3.0 STANDARD REQUIREMENTS FOR PRODUCTION MATERIALS Material suppliers and part producers must conform to the Companys Standard Requirements For Production Materials (WSS-M99P1111-A). 3.2 COMPOSITION Reground Foam, max 25% by weight The reground foam shall consist of cu
6、ttings from 160 kg/m3foam approved to ESB-M2D297-A1 or ESB-M2D297-A2 and be uniformly distributed throughout the finished part. 3.3 CONSTRUCTION The cell structure of sheets and finished parts shall be free from large voids, unblown compound or hard spots. Samples of parts or sheets shall be equal t

10、 Method: A 51 x 152 x 12.7 mm specimen shall be subjected to the following cycling, then bent 180 around a 51 mm diameter mandrel: 7 h at 83 +/- 2 C in a mechanical convection oven followed by 16 h at -18 +/- 2 C in a cold chamber and flexing in cold chamber. 3.12 AGED WEIGHT LOSS, max 2.5% Test Met
11、hod: Weigh 100 x 100 x 25 mm sample to the nearest mg (W1). Place the sample in a convection oven maintained at 121 C +/- 2 C for 24 h. Remove the sample and reweigh to the nearest mg (W2). 12、Standard No. 302, the materials, portions of components, and composites shall not burn, or transmit a flame across its surface, at a rate of more than 4 in (101 mm) per minute. 14、 and exceed a maximum burn rate of 76 mm per minute as specified by the Flammability Lot Sampling Plan of FLTM BN 024-02, must be evaluated for permanency of the materials flame retardant properties per ESB-M25P3-A according to the accelerated environmental aging requirements applicable to the accel
15、erated environmental aging requirements applicable to the basic materials category of this particular specification. Any material, portions of components, and composites defined by this specification that have been treated, modified or reformulated to conform to Flammability Lot Sampling Plan of FLT
16、M BN 024-02, regardless of maximum burn rate, must be evaluated for both permanency of materials flame retardant properties and changes in mechanical, chemical and physical properties per ESB-M25P3-A applicable to the basic materials category of this particular specification. 3.13.3 Flammability Tes
17、t Program Materials, portions of components, and composites governed by this specification must also comply with the requirements of ES-D3AB-11014-AA. 3.14 ACOUSTICAL PERFORMANCE Suppliers approved to this specification must have their material functionally approved by the affected Car Product Development Group for acoustical performance. This approval must be obtained before Materials and Corrosion Protection Engineering Department approval will be given.
