SCOPE This specification defines the paint performance requirements for exterior, second surface painted plastics. 2. APPLICATION This specification was released originally for a finish
3、 specified when it is necessary to control light leakage, appearance or optical properties on parking lamp lenses, tail lamp lenses and other transparent plastic parts that require second surface painting to maintain an acceptable appearance level. 3. REQUIREMENTS Material specification requirements
4、 are to be used for initial qualification of materials. 3.0 STANDARD REQUIREMENTS FOR PRODUCTION MATERIALS Material suppliers and part producers must conform to the Companys Standard Requirements For Production Materials (WSS-M99P1111-A). 3.1 CLEANING Parts must be free from soil, including mold rel
5、ease agents, oil, etc. 3.2 INITIAL HARDNESS Shall be sufficiently cured at time of packing to withstand normal production handling and shipping. 3.3 ADHESION No flaking or chipping (FLTM BI 106-01, Procedure 3) 3.4 WEATHERING RESISTANCE, min 400 h (FLTM BO 101-01) The finished test specimen shall sh
6、ow a minimum degree of fading, chalking, dulling or color change. No greater loss of gloss is permitted than equivalent approved production colors. This specimen may be a current production part, a similar or previous production part, or a test panel. In all cases the specimen under test shall be equivalent to current production materials and processing. No increase of brittleness or loss of adhesion is permitted and specimens shall be completely free from evidence of cracking, checking, blistering or peeling.
