SCOPEThe materials defined by these specifications are polish resistant,thermosetting acrylic baking enamels suitable for exterior exposure onlarge, highly visible surfaces.2. APPLICAT
3、IONThese specifications were released originally for enamels used as finalcolor coats on exterior parts where a low or medium gloss is required.It shall be satisfactory for use over specified primers, enamel sealers,or over baked ESB-M32J100 quality enamel.3. REQUIREMENTS3.1.1 VehicleThe fixed vehic
4、les shall be melamine modified, acrylicpolymers with minor amounts of plasticizers. No alkydresins are permitted.The proportions of solvents in the volatile portion shallbe so arranged that the enamels will level outsatisfactorily on spray application. The volatility of thesolvents is to be so chose
5、n that three medium wet spraycoats will give a dried film of at least 0.0015 in (39m)without sagging and with satisfactory freedomfrom roughness or dry spray. The volatile portion shallcontain sufficient active solvents to give satisfactoryadhesion when the enamel is applied over a previously bakedc
6、oat of ESB-M32J100 quality enamel.3.1.2 PigmentThe pigments shall be balanced and blended so that thefinished enamels match the Ford Motor Company master panelin color and luster and meets the requirements of thesespecifications for durability and polish resistance.3.1.3 Specific CompositionWhen it
7、is necessary to obtain specific data regardingenamel formulations, it is understood that suppliers willfurnish such data on request.3.1.4 ToxicityThe enamels shall contain no benzol (benzene), chlorinatedor other toxic compounds, or hydrolyzable chlorinederivatives or have an obnoxious or objectiona
