SCOPEThe mat erial defined by this specification is a pigmente

2、d two-componenturethane suitable for an exterior quality coating.2. APPLICATIONThis specification was released originally as a finish f or the RIM urethanecomponents of modular window assemblies.3. REQUIREMENTS3.1 STATISTICAL PROCESSSupplie rs must conform to the requirements of Ford Quality SystemS

3、tand ard Q-101. A mutually acceptable Control Plan as describedtherein is required for material/source approval. Appropriatestatist ical tools must be used to analyze process/product data sothat variation in the final product is continuously reduced.3.2 CONDITIONING AND TEST CONDITIONSAll test value

4、s indicated herein are based on ma terial conditioned ina control led atmosphere of 23 +/- 2 C and 50 +/- 5 % relativehumidity for not less than 24 h prior to testing and tested under thesame conditions unless otherwise specified.3.3 COMPOSITION3.3.1 Vehicle: Thermosetting, two-component urethane sy

5、stem withmi nor amounts of additives and/or plasticizers to providegood pigment wetting, adhesion to substrate and impactretention.3.3.2 Pig ments: The pigment blend shall provide a satisfactorycolor m atch to the Ford master panel on file and meet therequirements of this specification for durabilit

8、ack and gray checkerboard.Black 5 +3/-0 micrometre3.5 PREPARATION OF TEST PANELS3.5.1 SubstrateAll test specimens shall be cut from injection molded testslabs having a nominal thickness of 3.2 mm or parts.3.5.2 Substrate PreparationThe surface to be painted shall be cleaned by an acceptableco mmerci

9、al process to remove mold release agents, finger-prints, oils, dirt and any other detrimental surfacecontamination.3.5.3 Color topcoatApply sufficient color topcoat to obtain 25 +6/-3 micrometerdry f ilm thickness. Cure test panels per manufacturersrecommendation.3.6 APPEARANCE3.6.1 Color(FLTM BI 9-

11、he coating shall retain the dimensional integrity,flexibility impact strength and other mechanical propertiesof t he substrate to the degree required for the intendedapplication. The coating shall also exhibit no craters, pin-hole s, solvent popping, seediness, abnormal roughness orexcessive flow.3.

12、7 FILM PROPERTIES3.7.1 Film Thickness 20 - 45micrometers3.7.2 Adhesion Grade 0(FLTM BI 106-01)3.7.3 FlexibilityNo cracking of painted surface when bent over 13 mm mandrel.Test Method: Cut 13 x 100 mm sample from plaque. Graspsample firmly at each end, place over mandrel pa inted side upand bend arou

13、nd mandrel 180 deg min. Use 13 mm mandrel.3.8 RESISTANCE REQUIREMENTS3.8.1 Water resistance, min 240 h(FLTM BI 4-1)Te st Method: Immerse the test plaque or part for 240 h indistil led or deionized water maintained at 32 +/- 2 C asdescribed in FLTM BI 4- 1. Remove plaque/part from the wateran d immed

14、iately scribe an “X“ through the finish to thesubstrate. Dry the scribed area with a paper to wel, cloth orair (oil and moisture free) and immediately apply with firmthumb pressure, a minimum of 1300 mm2 of 3M #898 tape. Removethe tape by pulling one end at a 90 deg angle at moderatespeed.Test Accep

15、tance Criteri a: The following conditions shall bebasis for rejection:. Removal of paint beyond 1.6 mm from any scribe line. Saturate whitecotton cloth with the cleaners listed.Acceptance: No more color transfer than Rating 4 on the AATCCcol or Transference Scale when tested with the fol

C9AZ-19C507-A Glass Cleaner3.8.5 Resistance to Chemicals(1) M-14J148 Petroleum Naphtha(2) SAE 10 W 30 Motor OilTe st Method: Apply 2 to 5 mL of each chemical to separateareas (do not allow mix ing) of a pain

19、ted plaque. Cover eachspot with a watch glass to prevent evaporation. Expose for1 h at 23 +/- 2 C. Remove watch glass and wipe with a softwhite cloth. Thoroughly wash test area with soap and waterand dry. Perform adhesion per FLTM BI 106-01, Method B on test area.Acceptance: No more color transfer t

21、ezer at -30 +/- 2 C for4 h minimum. Open freezer, put on gloves and grasp samplefirmly at each end, place over mandrel painted side up, andbend around mandrel 180 deg min. Use 13 mm mandrel.Acceptance: Cracking of painted surface is permi tted providedno loss of adhesion of the paint develops at the

26、d to this specification must be equivalent inal l characteristics to the material upon which approval wasoriginally granted.Pri or to making any change in the properties, composition,constr uction, color, processing or labeling of the materialorig inally approved under this specification, whether or

27、 not suchchange s affect the materials ability to meet the specificationrequir ements, the Supplier shall notify Purchasing, Toxicology andthe affected Materials Engineering activity of the proposed changesand obtain the written approval of the Materials Engineeringactivity. Test data, t est samples

28、 and a new code identification areto be submitted with the request.Substance restrictions imposed by law, regulations or Ford, apply tothe materials addressed by this document. The restrictions aredefined in Engineering Material Specification WS S-M99P9999-A1, unlessa different suffix (e.g., A2 or A

29、3) is specified on the engineeringdocument for the application.4. APPROVAL OF MATERIALSMat erials defined by this specification must have prior approval by theresponsible Materials Engineeri ng activity. Suppliers desiring approval ofthe ir materials shall first obtain an expression of interest from

30、 theaffec ted Purchasing, Design and Materials Engineering activity. Uponrequest, the Supplier shall submit to the affected Materials Engineeringactivity its own laboratory rep ort to the specification (test results, notnominal values), the material designation and code number, and testspecim ens fo

31、r Ford evaluation. Upon approval, the material will be addedto the Engineering Material Approved Source List.5. GENERAL INFORMATIONTh e information in this paragraph is provided for assistance andclarification and does not represent requirements to this specification.5.1 FLASH POINT Below 26 C(ASTM

32、D 92)5.2 FLAMMABILITYThis material represent s a potential fire hazard. The ManufacturingEngineering Department shall notify both the Plant Security and theSafety Units of its pre sence in the Plant to assure that proper fireprecautions are provided. The location in which it is used or storedshall b
