APPLICATION This specification was released originally for materials used where a controlled fast quench is required such

3、as camshafts. 3. REQUIREMENTS 3.0 STANDARD REQUIREMENTS FOR PRODUCTION MATERIALS Material suppliers and part producers must conform to the Companys Standard Requirements For Production Materials (WSS-M99P1111-A). 3.1 API GRAVITY, min 29 (ASTM D 287) 3.2 VISCOSITY, at 37.8 C 19 - 23 cSt (mm2/s) (ASTM

4、 D 445) 3.3 VISCOSITY INDEX, min 100 3.4 FLASH POINT, min 177 C (ASTM D 92) 3.5 POUR POINT, max -4 C (ASTM D 97) 3.6 TOTAL ACID NUMBER, max 0.15 (ASTM D 664 or D 974) 3.7 QUENCH PERFORMANCE Must be equal to approved materials. 3.8 CONTAMINATION The material shall be free from acid, alkali, moisture, tarry or suspended matter, thickeners or other foreign matter. It must also be free from any objectionable odors.
