APPLICATIONThis specification was released originally for a surface coatinggenerally applicable to spark plug shells.3. REQUIREMENTS3.1
3、 FINISH AND APPEARANCEThe surface of parts must be uniformly coated and have a blackand/or bluish appearing color, and a rust inhibitor applied.3.2 COATING THICKNESSThe surface coating is primarily a tight oxide formation withessentially no build-up on the part.3.3 CORROSION PROTECTIONParts shall be
4、 dipped in a rust inhibitor after treatment.3.4 CORROSION RESISTANCEThe parts shall be adequately protected against rust and corrosion.The part must be free from rust on significant surfaces afterexposure for 48 h in an atmosphere of 95 - 100 % relative humidityat 38 +/- 1 C.3.5 SUPPLIERS RESPONSIBI

Changes in formulation or processing shallnot be made without prior approval as described in SupplierProcedure I-A.4.
