SCOPEThis specification defines the bond requirements for polyurethan

2、e foamgaskets of varying densities without a polyester film backing to plasticsubstrates.2. APPLICATIONThis specification was released originally for material for assembliesrequiri ng a gasket with a pressure sensitive adhesive on one side. Thepressu re sensitive adhesive is intended as an assembly

3、aid. It should beused only where the seal is mechanically retained in final assembly andwhere resistance to bacteria/fungus is required.3. REQUIREMENTS3.1 STATISTICAL PROCESSSupplie rs must conform to the requirements of Ford Quality SystemStand ard Q-101. A mutually acceptable Control Plan as descr

4、ibedtherein is required for material/source approval. Appropriatestatist ical tools must be used to analyze process/product data sothat variation in the final product is continuously reduced.3.2 PEEL STRENGTH, Plastic Membrane to Panel, min(ASTM D 903 reference only)Te st Method: Standard test panel

5、 to be injection molded smoothsu rfaced polypropylene ESB-M4D63-A. Adhere 150 mm of the 12.7 mmthick specimen to the test panel using a rubber covered steel roller.(The steel roller must be 82.6 +/- 2.5 mm in diameter and 44.5 +/-1.3 mm in width, covere d with rubber approximately 6 mm in thicknessh

6、aving a durometer hardness of 80 +/- 5. The weight of the rollerwhich ap plies pressure to the specimen shall be 2.04 +/- 0.05 kg.The roller should be co nstructed so that the weight of the handle isnot added to the weight of the roller during use.) Pass the roller,withou t application of additional

7、 pressure, over the gasketle ngthwise once in each direction at the rate of approximately 50mm/s. Allow 20 +/- 5 min before resuming test. Apply masking tapeto the surface of the foam to reduce the friction between the foamsurface s when the specimens are bent 180 deg with respect tothemselves.3.2.1

Allow a 4 h recovery at 23 +/- 2 C and 50

9、 +/- 5 %relative humidity before determining peel strength.3.2.3 Humidity Aged 0.11 N/mm width, m inTest Method: Condition the test panel with the specimenadhered for 7 days at 95-100 % relative humidity and 37 +/-1 C. Allow a 4 h recovery at 23 +/- 2 C and 50 +/- 5 %relative humidity before determi

10、ning peel strength.3.3 PEEL STRENGTH, Foam Rubber to Plastic Membrane (Bond must be made of a permanent adhesive)3.3.1 As Received No delaminationTest Method: Same as para 3.2, except double back eachspecimen on itself, slit through the membrane wi thout cuttingthe foam rubber, and pe el back approx

Activatethe machine at a jaw separation rate of 50 mm/min.3.4 BOND SEPARATION NoneTest Method: Using an actual production part which has the gasketadhered (25 mm width), cut the gasket and fasten a 200 g weight toone e nd by doubling the gasket back approximately 25 mm.
