2、TERIOR1. SCOPEThe mate rial defined by this specification is a high flexible exteriorpaint for plastic substrates. It must be cured with a suitable isocyanatehardener.2. APPLICATIONThis spe cification was released originally for material used as two packpaint for polycarbonate bumpers.3. REQUIREMENT
3、S3.1 STATISTICAL PROCESSSupplie rs must conform to the requirements of Ford Quality SystemStandar d Q-101. A mutually acceptable Control Panel as describedtherein is required for material/source approval. Appropriatestatist ical tools must be used to analyze process/product data sothat variation in
4、the final product is continuously reduced.3.2 INFRARED SPECTROPHOTOMETRY AND/OR THERMAL ANALYSISFord Motor Company, at its option, may conduct infrared and/ortherma l analysis of material/parts supplied to this specification.The IR spectra and thermograms established for i nitial approval shallconst
5、 itute the reference standard and shall be kept on file at thedesignated material laboratory. All samples sha ll produce IR spectraand thermograms that correspond to the reference standard when testedunder the same conditions.3.3 CONDITIONINGAll test values indicated herein are based on ma terial co

All tests shall be performed onpanels with a smooth, ungrained surface.3.6.2 Plastic PreparationThe surface to be painted shall be
12、cleaned by an acceptablepr ocess, e.g. power wash, to remove mold releasing agents,fingerprints, oils, dirt and moisture.Note: PP/EPDM plastics must either be primed with anadhesion primer or pret reated (flame process, etc.) prior topainting to provide sufficient paint adhesion.3.6.3 Primer Surface

16、 all requirements of performancespecification WSK-M2P145-A.3.9 COLD IMPACT RESISTANCE (Initial Approval only)Falling dart test at -25 C (equipment available in Materials &Fastener Quality Engineering laboratory, Merkenich) or as specifiedon Engineering Drawing.The pai nted part shall show no breaks,
17、 cracks, chipping or otherfailur es. The topcoat shall not deteriorate the cold impactresistance of the unpainted part.3.10 QUALITYThe topcoat must be ada ptable for application in accordance with theappropriate Ford Motor Company Process Specification.The topcoat must be compatible with all related
18、 materials, e.g.primer, substrate, adhesives, etc.3.11 SUPPLIERS RESPONSIBILITYAll materials supplied to this specification must be equivalent inal l characteristics to the material upon which approval wasoriginally granted.Pr ior to making any changes in the properties, composition,co nstruction, c
19、olor, processing or labelling of the materialorig inally approved under this specification, whether or not suchchange s affect the materials ability to meet the specificationrequir ements, the Supplier shall notify Purchasing, Toxicology andthe affected Materials Engineering activity of the proposed
20、 changesand obtain the written approval of the Materials Engineeringactivity. Test data, t est samples and a new code identification areto be submitted with the request.Substance restrictions imposed by law, regulations or Ford, apply tothe materials addressed by this document. Uponrequest, the Supplier shall submit to the affected Materials Engineeringactivity a completed copy of their laboratory test reports, signed by aqualified and autho
23、rized representative of the test faci lity, demonstratingful l compliance with all the requirements of this specification (testresults, not nominal values), the material designation a nd code number, andtes t specimens for Ford evaluation. Fords engineering approval of amateri al will be based on it
24、s performance to this specification and on anassessment of suitability for intended processes and/or applications.
