2、mine the resistance to emulsification with water of turbine and hydraulic mineral oils. Apparatus Required The apparatus required for the test (see diagram) consists of a liter boiling flask with Pyrex glass fittings, supported by a ring and stand, a 250 mL tall form graduate, a Bunsen burner and a
3、timing device such as a stop watch. Conditioning and Test Conditions All test values indicated herein are based on material conditioned in a controlled atmosphere of 23 +/- 2 C and 50 +/- 5 % relative humidity for not less than 24 h prior to testing and tested under the same conditions unless otherw
4、ise specified. Procedure 1. Pour 30 mL of distilled water and 100 mL of the oil to be tested into the 250 mL graduate. Note: All glassware used for the test should be chemically clean. 2. Assemble the apparatus and adjust the flame of the Bunsen burner to generate enough steam to maintain a vigorous
5、 agitation of the oil and water in the graduate for a period of 10 minutes. Timing should not begin until the water first penetrates through the oil layer. 3. After steaming for the prescribed time, immediately open the pressure release valve, shut off the burner, remove the glass tubing from the gr
6、aduate and set the stop watch. 4. Record the progress of separation at the intervals required by the specification for the oil in question. Chemicals, materials, parts, and equipment referenced in this document must be used and handled properly. Each party is responsible for determining proper use a
