2、esigned to obtain the impact strength of glass filled or other reinforcing material in nylon or other plastic valve stem panels. Equipment Required Oven Mechanical convection, temperature range 38 - 260 C. Charpy Izod Impact Tester for Plastics or equivalent (ASTM D 256) Source: Tinius Olsen Easton

3、Road Willow Grove, Pennsylvania Fixture for Impact Tester Refer to drawings and photographs. Fixture “A“ Weight must be held to 110 +/- 10 g. Conditioning and Test Conditions All test values indicated herein are based on material conditioned in a controlled atmosphere of 23 +/- 2 C and 50 +/- 5 % re

4、lative humidity for not less than 24 h prior to testing and tested under the same conditions unless otherwise specified. Procedure 1. Stabilize the valve stem seals at temperature specified in the Engineering Drawing or specification. 2. Remove existing striking bit on end of the arm and replace it

Install valve stem seal in Fixture B, C and D with the minor diameter facing the striker arm. Installation torque must be .03 Nm. 4. Ins

6、tall Fixture B, C, and D and sample in the machine holding jaw. 5. Set Charpy Izod dial to 100 range and install weights marked 100. 6. Trip arm and record impact values. Chemicals, materials, parts, and equipment referenced in this document must be used and handled properly. Each party is responsib
