、 determine the surface friction properties of coatings for weatherstrips (door, luggage compartment and roof rail). Apparatus Required Electronic Testing Machine Instron Mod el TM or equivalent. Accessories Tensile Load Cell CT Aluminum Plate 18 by 6 by 15/32 inches. Weight 5 lbs. Pulley 1 1/2 inch
、diameter Conditioning and Test Conditions All test values indicated herein are based on material conditioned in a controlle d atmosphere of 23 +/ - 2 C and 50 +/ - 5 % relative humidity for not less than 24 h prior to testing and tested under the same conditions unless otherwise specified. Procedure
、 1. Prepare test panel by cutting sections from the test weatherstrip and bond ing to an enameled panel as shown in the attached Figures 1 and 2. 2. Calibrate the instrument, following the directions in the instruction manual. 3. Set crosshead speed to 5 inches/minute and chart speed to 5 inches/min
、ute by using proper gear combinat ions as shown in gear selection chart for various speeds (see manual). 6、el prepared to ESB - M2P4 - A on aluminum plate with “C“ clamps. 7. Place test panel o n the painted panel and add 5 lb. weight as shown in the attached photograph. 8. Hook wire into hole in test panel, through pulley on the back edge of plate and into the jaw of the Instron unit. 9. Start test with
、 no tension and allow to run at least 6 i nches on the painted panel. 10. Record the surface friction in pounds (maximum reading) and report as required by the material specification. Chemicals, materials, parts, and equipment referenced in this document must be used and handled properly. Each party
