2、o test the sealing properties of engine and chassis sealers in the presence of lubricating oil and coolant solution. Apparatus Required Test Fixture Refer to Figure 1. Oven Mechanical convection; must be capable of maintaining 100 - 150 C. Materials Required Engine Oil Use currently approved “factor

3、y fill“ oil. Ethylene Glycol Coolant Use currently-approved “factory fill“ coolant (ethylene glycol coolant diluted 50:50 with tap water). Transmission Fluid Use currently approved “factory fill“ fluid. Conditioning and Test Conditions All test values indicated herein are based on material condition

4、ed in a controlled atmosphere of 23 +/- 2 C and 50 +/- 5 % relative humidity for not less than 24 h prior to testing and tested under the same conditions unless otherwise specified. Procedure 1. Apply sealer to all threads of test fixture. Tighten plugs to appropriate torque (refer to Figure 1) and

Fill the assembly with engine oil, transmission fluid or ethylene glycol solution as specified and install remaining end cap. 3. Place the assembly into an oven at 102 +/- 2 C for

6、 72 h unless otherwise specified. Orient the assembly with the plugs pointing downward (above a trough or other means of collecting any fluid that may leak). 4. Report any evidence of leakage during this period. Chemicals, materials, parts, and equipment referenced in this document must be used and handled properly.
