2、to determine the ash content of moulded materials used in various automotive parts. Apparatus Required Analytical Balance With an accuracy of 0.1 mg. Muffle Furnace Capable of maintaining a temperature of 650 +/- 10 C. Porcelain Crucible With cover. Desiccator Conditioning and Test Conditions All te

3、st values indicated herein are based on material conditioned in a controlled atmosphere of 23 +/- 2 C and 50 +/- 5 % relative humidity for not less than 24 h prior to testing and tested under the same conditions unless otherwise specified. Procedure 1. Fire a crucible and cover in the muffle furnace

4、 of 650 +/- 10 C for 30 minutes, cool in a desiccator and weigh to the nearest 0.1 mg. 2. Weigh a moulded part to the nearest 0.1 mg (maximum 3 g) and transfer to the crucible using tweezers. If the part is heavier than 3 g, cut off representative pieces to approx 3 g. 3. Place covered crucible in c

Remove cover after temperature reaches 650 C. Burn to constant weight. 5. Cover the crucible, cool in a desiccator and weigh. Evaluation Ash % = Weight of Ash (g) x 100 Weight of Sample (g) Chemicals, materials, parts, and equipment referenced in this document must be used and handled properly. Each party is responsible for determining proper use and handling in its facilities.
