2、IC COATED METAL, EXTERIOR SK-M99D9706-A NOT TO BE USED FOR NEW DESIGN 1. SCOPE The material defined by this specification is a plastic coated metal part. 2. APPLICATION The material is used as a decorative exterior part and/or as specified on the Engineering Drawing. 3. REQUIREMENTS Note: The materi

3、al shall be conditioned for a minimum of 24 h at 23 +/- 2 C and 50 +/- 5% relative humidity prior to test and tested under the same conditions. 3.0 STANDARD REQUIREMENTS FOR PRODUCTION MATERIALS Material suppliers and part producers must conform to the Companys Standard Requirements For Production M

4、aterials (WSS-M99P1111-A). 3.1 FINISHED PART REQUIREMENTS 3.1.1 Appearance (FLTM BI-109-01) The finished part shall match the Master Appearance Sample as approved by the Design Department. 3.1.2 Coating Thickness, min 120 micrometer (FLTM BI 117-01/ASTM B 487) Or as specified on the Engineering Draw

5、ings 3.1.3 Location of Coating As specified on the Engineering Drawings 3.1.4 Adhesion After test, the coating shall not be separated from the substrate in excess of 3 mm on each side of the cut. Test Method: Make a cut through the coating and across the longitudinal direction of the test specimen (

6、approx. 200 mm in length) using a sharp knife. Bend specimen 180 upon itself with the cut facing outward and examine as described above. 7、r a heat ageing period of 3 h in a mechanical convection oven maintained at 130 +/- 2 C the coating shall not show any surface failures or loss of adhesion. Adhesion test according to clause 3.1.4. 3.1.6 Cold Resistance After test, the coating shall not show any breaks or cracks. Test Method: Test s

8、hall be done according to FLTM BO 151-01 at -40 +/- 1 C, except use a steel ball with a weight force of 2.21 N and 38 +/- 1 mm diameter. 3.1.7 Environmental Cycling After test the coating shall not show any surface failures or loss of adhesion. Test for adhesion as per clause 3.1.4. Test Method: Sub

9、ject specimens to three complete cycles. One cycle consisting of the following in the sequence indicated below: 3 h at 90 +/- 1 C 1 h at room temperature 3 h at -40 +/- 1 C 1 h at room temperature 16 h at 38 +/- 2 C and 98 +/- 2% relative humidity 3.1.8 Shock Test After test, the coating shall not s

10、how any surface failures or loss of adhesion. Adhesion test according to clause 3.1.4. Test Method: Condition specimens for 4 h in a cold box maintained at -40 +/- 1 C, and immediately after removal immerse for 5 minutes in water of 70 +/- 2 C. 3.1.9 Resistance to Waxing and Dewaxing Compounds (FLTM

11、 BO 155-01) After test, the coating shall not show any color tone change or any other surface failure. 3.1.10 Resistance to Weathering 500 h Weatherometer test according to FLTM BO 101-01. After test, the specimen shall not show color tone change, fading or any other surface failures. Furthermore, t

12、he specimen shall not exhibit any loss of adhesion, when tested according to clause 3.1.4. 3.1.11 H2S-Resistance No discoloration (FLTM AN 102-01) or staining 3.1.12 Salt Fog Resistance 240 h No blistering and rusting on specimen surface and no more than 4 mm rust creepage and/or loss of adhesion fr

13、om a line scribed to bare metal. Clause “Preparatio

14、n of Test Panels“ shall be omitted. 3.1.13 Stone Chipping Resistance, max Rating 2 (FLTM EU-BI 057-02) 3.2 COATING MATERIAL REQUIREMENTS Modified polyamide or other material as specified on the Engineering Drawing shall be used. 3.3 METAL SUBSTRATE REQUIREMENTS 3.3.1 Material As specified on Engineering drawing 3.3.2 Salt Fog Resistance 240 h (ASTM B 117) Or as specified on Engineering drawing Note: This test is only required for not completely coated parts.
