SCOPE The material defined by this specification is a polyester cloth of good quality and uniform composition coated on both sides with a high temperature, oxygenated and oxidized (“ sour“) fuels, ozone, and
3、 low temperature stiffening resistant fluorosilicone (FVMQ) rubber. It is usually furnished molded to a desired shape, but may be sheet stock. 2. APPLICATION This specification was released originally as the diaphragm application s for the carburetor accelerator pump. 3. REQUIREMENTS Material specif
4、ication requirements are to be used for initial qualification of materials. 3.1 QUALITY SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS Material suppliers and part producers must conform to the Companys Quali ty System Requirements. 3.2 INFRARED SPECTROPHOTOMETRY AND/OR THERMAL ANALYSIS IR spectra and thermograms established f
5、or initial approval shall constitute the reference standard and shall be kept on file at the designated material laboratory. All samp les shall produce IR spectra and thermograms that correspond to the reference standard when tested under the same conditions. 3.3 CONDITIONING AND TEST CONDITIONS All
6、 test values indicated herein are based on material conditioned in a controlled atmosph ere of 23 +/ - 2 C and 50 +/ - 5 % relative humidity for not less than 24 h prior to testing and tested under the same conditions unless otherwise specified. 3.4 CONSTRUCTION The overall construction (base fabric

14、lure. 3.15 IMMERSION IN OXIDIZED GASOLINE (SOUR GAS) (FLTM AZ 5 - 1, 120 h at 60 +/ - 2 C each cycle, PN - 180) Test Method: Using reflux condensing equipment immerse the specimens in 180 PN (Peroxide Number) sour fuel at 60 +/ - 2 C for 48 to 72 h. Dry out in the convection oven for 4 h at 100 +/ -
15、 2 C. Re -immerse the same specimens in t he 180 PN sour fuel at 60 +/ - 2 C for additional 48 to 72 h. The total time of both immersions shall equal 120 h. Dry specimens for 4 h at 100 +/ - 2 C. Repeat above for 2 cycles and determine the following properties. 3.15.1 Bursting Strength Change, max -

18、RCE IDENTIFICATION Each diaphragm shall have the suppliers identification marks permanently affixed. 3.18 SUPPLIERS RESPONSIBILITY All materials supplied to this specification must be equivalent in all characteristic s to the material upon which approval was originally granted. Prior to making any c
19、hanges to the material originally approved under this specification, whether or not such changes affect the materials ability to meet the specification requirements, the S upplier shall notify the affected Purchasing, and Materials Engineering activities (with reasons) of the proposed changes. Upon
20、notification of the Company, further instructions will be provided. Note: Suppliers should be prepared to provide test data a nd samples demonstrating compliance to this specification, if requested. Substance restrictions imposed by regulations or Company direction applies to the materials addressed
21、 by this document. The restrictions are identified in Restricted Substance Mana gement Standard WSS - M99P9999 - A1. 4. APPROVAL OF MATERIALS Materials defined by this specification for direct supply to the Company must have prior approval. Certain materials subcontracted by part suppliers may also
22、require prior approval. These includ e materials critical to the Companys business for regulatory, safety, environmental or compatibility requirements or contractual agreements. Suppliers desiring approval of their materials shall first obtain an expression of interest from Purchasing, Desi gn or Materials Engineering activity. Upon request, the Supplier shall submit a completed copy of their laboratory test reports, signed by a qualified and authorized representative of the test facility, demonstrating full compliance with all the requireme nts of this specification.
