SCOPE The material defined by this specification is a corrosion and heat resistant nickel base alloy, with temperature-electromotive force negat
3、ive relation to nearly all other metals and alloys. 2. APPLICATION This specification was released originally for material used to connect thermocouples to wire assemblies in cooler areas of a vehicle without a loss of accuracy across the thermal gradient. 3. REQUIREMENTS 3.0 STANDARD REQUIREMENTS F
4、OR PRODUCTION MATERIALS Material suppliers and part producers must conform to the Companys Standard Requirements For Production Materials (WSS-M99P1111-A). 3.4 CONSTRUCTION 3.4.1 Conductor The conductor shall be seven #28 gage solid wires combined to make #20 gage cable. Cable-to-cable butt welds sh
5、all not be allowed. The maximum lay length shall be 25 mm. 9、le. 3.4.2 Insulation The insulating material shall be flame retardant, homogenous, cross-linked polyethylene, similar to SAE J1560, Type TXL. The material shall adhere closely to, but strip readily from the conductors, leaving them free of insulation and in suitable condition for applying terminals.
10、 The minimum wall thickness, minimum wall average, and the maximum overall diameter of the finished cable shall be in accordance to Table 2 SAE J1560. 11、 polyethylene (PE) cover shall be specified on the engineering drawing and/or release by a numerical suffix following the letter suffix of the material desired. The numerical color coding suffixes shall correspond to the following: 0 Black 5 Green 1 Brown 6 Blue 2 Red 7 Violet 3 Orange 8 Gray 4 Yell
12、ow 9 White or natural The first color coding numerical suffix mentioned in describing cable color shall be the base or body color of the finished cable and the second number shall designate the tracer or other auxiliary marking. The base and stripe colors shall correspond to the Munsell color tolera
13、nces specified in SAE J1560, Appendix A, Table A1. 3.5 CABLE QUALITY TEST The following tests: Insulation Physical Properties, Dielectric Test, Cold Bend Test, Flame Test, Oil Absorption Test and Pinch Test correspond respectively to sections 5.2 through 5.7 of SAE J1560, type TXL. The tests listed
14、below shall be conducted in addition to the test above: 3.5.1 High Temperature Resistance 25 mm of the insulation shall be removed from each end of a 600 mm sample of the finished cable. The sample shall be suspended around a cylindrical mandrel having a diameter of 115 mm. The weight specified for
15、the Cold Bend Test above, SAE J1560, Section 5.4, Table 5, Type TXL shall be suspended from each end of the conductor. This condition shall be maintained for 168 h in a mechanical convection oven at a temperature of 165 +/- 2 C. When cool, the specimen shall be removed from the mandrel and wrapped i
16、n the reverse direction around a mandrel of the diameter specified for the Cold Bend Test in the manner prescribed for the Cold Bend Test. The specimen shall then be subjected to the Dielectric Test, SAE J1560, Section 5.3. 3.5.2 Abrasion Resistance (SAE J 1128, weight support bracket “A“, 0.23 kg weight, min requirement 305 mm) 3.6 IDENTIFICATION Every shipment of Positive Thermocouple grade wire shall be accompanied by a green color coded identification tag certifying material with respect to its coil number, specification, and weight.
