2、xterior textured paintfor plas tic substrates. It must be cured with a suitable isocyanatehardener.2. APPLICATIONThis spe cification was released originally for material used as two packtextured paint for various exte rior applications such as radiator grilles,body side moldings, etc.3. REQUIREMENTS

3、3.1 STATISTICAL PROCESSSupplie rs must conform to the requirements of Ford Quality SystemStanda rd Q-101. A mutually acceptable Control Plan as describedth erein is required for material/source approval. Appropriatestatist ical tools must be used to analyze process/product data sothat variation in t

4、he final product is continuously reduced.3.2 INFRARED SPECTROPHOTOMETRY AND/OR THERMAL ANALYSISFord Motor Company, at its option, may conduct infrared and/ortherma l analysis of material/parts supplied to this specification.The IR spectra and thermograms established for i nitial approval shallconst

5、itute the reference standard and shall be kept on file at thedesignated material lab oratory. All samples shall produce IR spectraand thermograms that correspond to the reference standard when testedunder the same conditions.3.3 CONDITIONINGAl l Tests according to this specification shall be perform

10、)3.5.7 Storage Stability 90 daysDuri ng a storage of 90 days between 5 and 32 C temperaturethe m aterial as supplied shall not settle up or cakeinsol uble. 11、REPARATION OF TEST PANELS3.6.1 SubstrateABS, Polyamide, Polycarbonate or Polypropylene, etc. asrequired on Engineering Drawing.Note: PP/EPDM plastics must be primed with an ad hesion primerprior to painting.3.6.2 Plastic PreparationThe surface to be painted shall be cleaned by an acceptablepr ocess,

12、 e.g. power wash, to remove mold releasing agents,fingerprints, oils, dirt and moisture.3.6.3 Primer Surfacer (if required)Application of a primer surfacer, film thickness and bakingas specified in the relevant material specification.3.6.4 Topcoat applicationDry film thickness: 30 - 35 micrometre;Fl

13、ash off time: 3 minutes at room temperature;Baki ng: 15 minutes at 80 C or 5 minutes at 120 C (Objecttemperature).3.6.5 AgeingTest panels prepared under this specification shall be agedfor at least 72 h at 23 +/- 2 C or 16 h at 45 +/- 1 C beforetesting for resistance properties.3.7 APPEARANCECol our

15、ROPERTIESTest Panels and plastic parts painted according to para 3.6 of thisspecification shall meet all requirements of performancespecification WSK-M2P143-A.3.9 QUALITYThe top coat must be adaptable for application i n accordance with theappropriate Ford Motor Company Process Specification.The top

16、 coat must be compatible with all related materials.3.10 SUPPLIERS RESPONSIBILITYAll materials supplied to this specification must be equivalent inal l characteristics to the material upon which approval wasoriginally granted.Pr ior to making any changes in the properties, composition,co nstruction,

17、 color, processing or labelling of the materialorig inally approved under this specification, whether or not suchchange s affect the materials ability to meet the specificationrequir ements, the Supplier shall notify Purchasing, Toxicology andthe affected Materials Engineering activity of the propos

18、ed changesand obtain the written approval of the Materials Engineeringactivity. Test data, test samples and a new code identification areto be submitted with the request.Substance restrictions imposed by law, regulations or Ford apply tothe mat erials addressed by this document. The restrictions are

19、defined in Engineering Material Specification WS S-M99P9999-A1, unlessa different suffix (e.g., A2 or A3) is specified on the engineeringdocument for the application.4. APPROVAL OF MATERIALSMat erials defined by this specification must have prior approval by theresponsible Materials Engineeri ng act

20、ivity. Suppliers desiring approval ofthe ir materials shall first obtain an expression of interest from theaffect ed Purchasing, Design and Materials Engineering activity. Uponrequest, the supplier shall submit to the affected Materials Engineeringactivity its own laboratory rep ort to the specifica

21、tion (test results, notnominal values), the material designation and code number, and testspecimen s for Ford evaluation. Upon approval, the material will be addedto the Engineering Material Approved Source List. 5.
