2、s for an excellentaluminium bronze paint system on reflectors. 2. APPLICATIONThis s pecification was released originally to provide excellent corrosionres istance for where an optical active surface over automotive lamps isrequired.3. REQUIREMENTS3.1 STATISTICAL PROCESSSupplie rs must conform to the

3、 requirements of Ford Quality SystemStand ard Q-101. A mutually acceptable Control Plan as describedtherein is required for material/source approval. Appropriatestatist ical tools must be used to analyze process/product data sothat variation in the final product is continuously reduced.3.2 CONDITION

4、INGAll parts shall be aged for 72 h at 23 +/- 2 C or 16 h at 43 +/- 2 Cbefore testing for resistance properties.3.3 SYSTEM COMPONENTS3.3.1 SubstrateTher moplastic material or castings: As specified on theEngineering Drawing.3.3.2 CleaningThe su rface to be painted shall be free from oils, dirt,moist

5、ure, fingerprints and mould releasing agents.3.3.3 Coating MaterialParts shall be painted with a Ford Engineering approved airdrying or baking finish.ENGINEERING MATERIAL SPECIFICATION WSK-M2P148-AWP 3948-b Page 2 of 33.4 FILM PROPERTIES3.4.1 Colour(FLTM BI 109-01)As specified on the Engineering Dra

6、wing.Shall match the approved master sample.3.4.2 Gloss(FLTM BI 110-01)As specified on the Engineering Drawing.Shall match the approved master sample.3.4.3 Initial HardnessThe finish shall be sufficiently cured at the ti me of packingto withstand normal handling and shipping without damage.3.4.5 App

7、earanceThe pain t surface on the reflecting areas shall be uniformand smooth and free from visible pits, cracks and blisters.3.4.6 Photometric TestAft er assembly the photometric value shall meet the locallegal requirements (EEC and/or SAE specifications).3.5 RESISTANCE PROPERTIES3.5.1 Paint Adhesio

8、n Grade 0(FLTM BI 106-01, Method B) No chipping3.5.2 Humidity Resistance 5 cycles(ASTM D 2247, 1 cycle, 8 h humidityexposure 16 h at 23 +/- 2 C and50 +/- 5 % RH)Ther e shall be no evidence of paint break-down (see item3.4.5) and no loss of gloss.ENGINEERING MATERIAL SPECIFICATIONWSK-M2P148-AWP 3948-

9、b Page 3 of 3 3.5.3 Environmental Cycle Resistance 5 cycles(1 cycle, 3 h at 75 +/- 2 C1 h at 23 +/- 2 C and 50 +/- 5 % RH3 h at - 32 +/- 2 C1 h at 23 +/- 2 C and 50 +/- 5 % RH16 h at 38 +/- 1 C and 96 +/- 2 % RHNote: Omit 16 h humidity exposure during last cycle)The fini shed parts shall show no pai

The finish afterthe test shall meet the requirements of item 3.5.1.3.6 ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTSSpecific requirements for material and/or manufa ctured parts shall bespecified on the Engineering drawing, Engineerin g parts specificationan

All critical areas with respectto these properties shall be clearly designated on the Engineeringdrawing.3.7 SUPPLIERS RESPONSIBILITYAll materials supplied to this specification must be equivalent inal l characteristics to the material upon which approval wasoriginal

12、ly granted.Pri or to making any change in the properties, composition,constr uction, color, processing or labeling of the materialorig inally approved under this specification, whether or not suchchange s affect the materials ability to meet the specificationrequir ements, the Supplier shall notify

13、Purchasing, Toxicology andthe affected Materials Engineering activity of the proposed changesand obtain the written approval of the Materials Engineeringactivity. Test data, t est samples and a new code identification areto be submitted with the request.Substance restrictions imposed by law, regulat

14、ions or Ford, apply tothe materials addressed by this document. The restrictions aredefined in Engineering Material Specification WS S-M99P9999-A1, unlessa different suffix (e.g., A2 or A3) is specified on the engineeringdocument for the application.4. APPROVAL OF MATERIALSThis specification is inte

15、nded to define the performance and/or propertiesof finished parts or systems of combined materials. An EngineeringMaterial Approved Source listin g is not applicable for this specification.Produc t Engineering materials referenced in this document and/or theaffected engineering drawing wh ich require prior Engineering approval, aresh own in the Engineering Material Approved Source List under thespecification cited.
