3、PLASTIC OLEFIN (TPO) SKIN WSS-M98D39-A4 CROSS-LINKED POLYOLEFIN FOAM, NON-SCORE SEAMLESS PAB INSTRUMENT PANEL APPPICATIONS 1. SCOPE The materials defined by this specification are a formed assembly consisting of a cross-linked polyolefin foam bonded to a TPO cover material. 2. APPLICATION WSS-M98D39

4、-A/A2 - These specifications were released originally for material used in interior trim applications, such as the CD391 door trim or for instrument panel applications utilizing the IMGL process. This laminate is either negatively vacuum formed for typical in-mold-grain process or positively vacuum

5、formed and then adhesively bonded to a rigid substrate. WSS-M98D39-A4 This specification was originally released for a non-score seamless PAB instrument panel application for the B515 program. This laminate is positively vacuum formed and then adhesively bonded to a rigid substrate. Parts using this

6、 specification shall meet the appropriate performance specification WSS-M15P45-C/Latest Instrument Panel and Soft Interior Components, Flexible Cover SkinMaterial Performance specification and the Craftsmanship compression/deflection criteria per the appropriate ARL: 17-0209 for door and console arm

7、rests, 17-0220 for door upper roll, and 17-0229 for IP upper unless otherwise mutually agreed between Product Development and Materials Engineering. 2.1 LIMITATIONS WSS-M98D39-A4 Not to be used for instrument panel applications where laser scoring of the skin is required for airbag deployment. 3. RE

8、QUIREMENTS 3.1 APPROVED SOURCES This specification requires the use of approved sources. Only the sources identified on the Ford Approved Source List (ASL) can be used when this specification is listed on the drawing, CAD file, or other documents. The list of approved sources is located within Ford

9、at or available externally through a Ford Materials Engineer. 17、 show no evidence of wear through, and the color of the abraded area shall be compatible in appearance with the adjacent unabraded area. 3.4.2 Resistance to Scuffing (SAE J365, 250 cycles) The surface shall show no evidence of wear through, lifting, peeling or excessive scuffing and the color shall

The supplier shal

29、l submit a completed copy of their laboratory test reports, signed by a qualified and authorized representative of the test facility, demonstrating full compliance with all the requirements of the Material Specification. Tested material samples must be available for review upon request and kept for

30、a minimum of one year. Upon request, the supplier will review the associated quality control documents (Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis, Control Plans, Certification testing) with Ford. 4.2 SUPPLIERS ONGOING RESPONSIBILITY All materials must be equivalent in all characteristics to the mate

31、rial upon which approval was originally granted. Prior to making any changes to the material originally approved, whether or not such changes affect the materials ability to meet the specification requirements, the supplier shall notify the affected Supplier Technical Assistance (STA), Purchasing, a

32、nd Materials Engineering activities of the proposed changes (with reasons) by submission of a completed Suppliers Request for Engineering Approval, SREA. For parts and components using Ford Engineering Material Specifications, all samples tested to the specifications for Design Verification (DV), Pr

33、oduction Verification (PV) and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) sign off must be kept until Job 1. 4.3 RESTRICTED SUBSTANCE MANAGEMENT STANDARD Substance restrictions imposed by regulations or Company direction applies to the materials addressed by this document. The restrictions are identifi

34、ed in the Restricted Substance Management Standard WSS-M99P9999-A1 which is updated yearly. It is the suppliers responsibility to comply with this standard on a continuing basis through IMDS and or GMAP reporting. 5.
