1、GeneralSpecificationElectrical Function GME15339Wiring HarnessWork Instruction1 ScopeThis standard stipulates work instructions to wiringharnesses with regard to routing and mounting.Note: Nothinginthisstandardsupersedesapplicablelaws and regulations.Note: In the event of a conflict between the Eng-

3、ectors and Terminals. Electrical Connec-tors to GMW3191.General: The harness manufacturer must either useapplicators from the terminal manufacturer or if appli-cators of any other kind are going to be used, the har-ness manufacturer shall verify those applicators andcrimp process parameters together

4、 with the terminalmanufacturer. The harness manufacturer is respon-sible for verifying every cable dimension (and combi-nationofdimensionsandcableterminal)togetherwiththe terminal manufacturer.If more than one cable with different cross sections isfitted into the same terminal, the smallest cable sh

5、allbe located at the bottom in the insulation clamp.Connector housing shall be fixed to the harnessbranch so that mating connector and locking deviceremain accessible.In delivery condition attached with krepp tape orequivalent, width 12 mm, if used permanent in dryareas or will be removed in product

6、ion.In delivery condition insulated attached.Cables are secured with a strap to housing.Fixed by wrapping around insulating tape, optionalwrapping tape to be used.Cables are secured with a strap. It shall be fixed by CWC or cable ties. Nospiral routing around the branch allowed.Mating fa

8、ce of the connector housing coveredwith insulating tape and housing insulated with1 lap maximum tape on delivery detachable (appliedwith flag for easy removal). Branch attached tothe harness with 3 laps maximum of krepp tape orequivalent, width 12 mm in a way that the insulationtape remain accessibl

9、e (shall be free of krepp tape).In delivery condition attached with fabric adhesivetape or equivalent, if not CBB.In delivery unlocked.Terminal over complete length, acid free soldered tocore.Solder-free clamp fitted, including insulation permis-sible voltage drop 25 mV max. at 5 A/mm2 loadafter sal

10、t spray fog testing to GMW3191.3.2 Coverings.General: Coverings shall start 15 mm from thebackside of the connector. In cases where no hous-ing exists (terminals) the covering shall not extendbeyond the end of the crimp area, unless other-wisespecified.Structure from the inside outward.Coverings sta

11、rting 30 mm from housing connectorback side.Coverings shall reach to the back of the connectorhousing without interfering with contact location.No wires visible, unless colour black.Coverings fixed to the harness.3.2.1 Conduits, Sleeves, Grommets.General: On slotted convoluted conduits, wire shallno

12、t exit slit.Wires in the cut-off area (e.g. at the end of the con-voluted conduit resp. wires passing through the slitof the convoluted conduit) protected with tape in thearea of the slit/edge).End of convoluted conduit closed by taping (slit andcut off) unless otherwise specified.When reduction of

13、convoluted conduits, the overlapshall be 30 mm and be fixed.Branch fitted at convoluted conduits diameter. Mate-rialof thebranch fittingshall bethesameas the mate-rial of the conduit. In case of con-voluted conduit/tube: tape over the conduit/sleeve.Branch flexible, convoluted conduit cut-off, all sleev-ings fixed to the harness by taping, wires shall not bevisible even if extremely bend.End pieceor

15、 lockingpiecefittedatconvoluted conduitdiameter and convoluted conduit profile from MRG toGME15337 length 30 mm (MRH to GME15337).Guard grommet is with mounting strap attached toconnector housing female, fix in position as shown.3.2.2 Tape.General The type of tape shall beapproved by GME.Spirally ov

16、erlapping shall be wrapped (30.50) %.At the beginning and end of gap-taping the tape shallbe fastened with 2 overlapping turns.When gap-taping the tape, the recommendation is torelate the width of tape to the wire harness diameteras follows:Wire harness diameterin mmMaximum tape widthin mm53 9 0.510

The spot-taping is always 2 overlappingturns.Tape shall be applied lengthwise

18、 to the harness.3.3 Screened and Twisted Cable.3.3.1 The end of the screen shall be covered witha heat shrink tube. The screen shall extend till(35 5) mm from cable end, unless otherwise speci-fied.Passover area from jacket end to the single wires anddrain wire taped with 1.5 laps minimum of insulat

Electrical Connectors to GMW3191.Use suitable position to avoid short circuits andextremely large wiring harness diameters, eachsplice has to be insulated.Same as CVA but for splice with center stripping.Same as CVA but for splice with center

21、strippings.Same as CVA but: in case of only 2 wires these canbe replaced with a single wire, in case of more than2wires the splice can be replaced by acorrespondingnumber of double crimped connections of wire ends.Cross-section chosen to suit the purpose.3.5 Customer Specific Wiring Harness Drawing.
