PURPOSE This standard aims at helping test personnel perform the test in an appropriate method by describing the test of weight loss and graphite content for seal flexib
3、le joint which is the connecting part of exhaust manifold and front exhaust for pipes. 2. SCOPE This standard specifies the testing method of weight loss and graphite content for seal flexible joint (hereinafter referred to as the “test piece“) used by GMDAT. 3. DEVICE 3.1. Regulate the temperature
4、using an electric furnace(range: 500 to 1500, tolerance:0.5) as shown in Fig. 1. Fig. 1. Electric Furnace 3.2. Balance : Use a balance which is capable of measuring to 1/100g of the weight of the specimen. 3.3. Drier : Use a drier which is capable of maintaining the temperature of 1055in the device.
5、 4. TEST PIECE 4.1. The product as it is and dried product shall be tested separately. 4.2. For the first approval at least 3 test piece, and for the routine quality control at least 1 test piece shall be used. 5. TESTING METHOD 5.1. Number the specimen dried in the drier and non-dried specimen separately to give a number exactly, and weigh the mass up to 1/100g accur
7、ately. 5.1.2. Put the specimen in the electric furnace by adjusting the position and distance in order that temperature may be transmitted to the whole specimen uniformly, and maintain it at the specified temperature for the specified time. However, in special case, it shall conform to an agreement
8、between the parties concerned. 5.1.3. Take out the specimen from the electric furnace and air-cool it to prevent loss, and then weigh the mass up to 1/100g accurately. 5.1.4. Calculate the weight loss as follows. (A-H) Weight loss(%) = - 100 A Where, A = Weight of specimen before heating (g) H = Wei
9、ght of specimen after heating (g) 5.2. Measuring method of graphite content 5.2.1. After detaching the stainless steel wire completely, weigh the mass of graphite content up to 1/100g. 5.2.2. Calculate the weight loss as follows. (C-R) Graphite content(%) = - 100 C Where, C = Weight of specimen befo
10、re removing graphite (g) R = Weight of specimen after removing graphite (g) 6. EVALUATION METHOD The weight loss and graphite content, measured after being maintained at a specified temperature for a specified time, shall conform to the drawing or separately specified standard. However, when measuri

MARKING The measured value of the weight loss and graphite content shall be rounded off to the first decimal place according to KS A 0021. 8. REFERENCE KS A 0021 Rules for rounding of numerical value
