2、 and domestic language, the English language shall take precedence. 1.1 Purpose. The object of this test procedure is to determine the effects of fluids on automotive trim materials and components. Examples of fluids are cleaning agents, perspiration, etc. 1.2 Foreword. Not applicable. 1.3 Applicabi

Such components will normally have organic-coated surfaces or be integrally colored plastic or self-adhesive films, but other types of materials or components are not excluded. 2 References Note: Only the latest approved standards are applicable unless otherwise specified. 2.1 External Standar

5、3.1.1 Calibration. The test facilities and equipment shall be in good working order and shall have a valid calibration label. 3.1.2 Alternatives. Alternative test facilities and equipment may also be used. However, all measuring variables as specified in this standard shall be determined correctly w
6、ith respect to their physical definition. 3.2 Equipment. 3.2.1 Apparatus for conditioning to GMW3221. 3.2.2 Containers of sufficient capacity to hold test pieces and test medium. 3.2.3 Clean cotton cloth. The test fluid specified in the material specification shall be called out on t
8、he drawing or in the math data per the designated code in Table 1. Examples for regional commercial products are given in Table A1. If more than one fluid is given under a coding, the test shall be repeated for each fluid. 3.3 Test Vehicle/Test Piece. 3.3.1 Test Piece. If possible, complete componen
9、ts shall be tested. Where size, configuration, etc., restricts testing, sections of convenient size, cut from the component, shall be used. A minimum of three (3) test pieces shall be tested. 3.3.2 Organic Coatings. It is also permissible to use specially prepared test panels. The size shall be: (25
10、0 5) x (20 2) x (0.8 to 2.5) mm The test panels shall be made of production-intent substrates. Coating shall be applied via production-intent processes and in the thicknesses specified in the material specification or in the paint manufacturers data sheet. 3.4 Test Time. Not applicable. 3.5 Test Req
11、uired Information. If not otherwise specified, the respective fluids are applicable for the materials specified in Table 2 (integrally colored, organic-coated, and self-adhesive films listed; other types of materials must specify the required fluids). Conditioned test pieces shall be immersed in the
12、 test fluid for the time specified in Table 2. The test pieces shall be removed, rinsed free of reagent, dried with clean cloth using slight pressure, inspected, and evaluated. Test pieces shall be tested immediately after conditioning to GMW3221 Code A for periods as defined in 4.2 and 4.3. 4.2 Conditions. 4.2.1 Environmental Conditions. Not applicable. 4.2.2 Test Conditions. Deviations from
23、the requirements of this standard shall have been agreed upon. Such requirements shall be specified on component drawings, test certificates, reports, etc. 4.2.2.1 Organic Coatings. All organic coatings conditioned for 72 h. 4.2.2.2 Self-adhesive Films. Condition for 24 h after adhering. 4.2.2.3 Pla
24、stic Parts. Condition for 24 h. Conditioning and testing shall not be performed within 72 h of manufacture. 4.3 Instructions. 4.3.1 The test procedure shall be performed at +23 C 5 C. 4.3.2 Fill specified test fluid into the test container. 4.3.3 Place the conditioned test piece into the test contai
25、ner so that a minimum of half the test piece is covered by the test fluid. For parts with an appearance surface (visible surface in car) a minimum of half the surface shall be covered. 4.3.4 Immerse the test piece for the time specified in Table 2. 4.3.5 Remove the test piece from the test container
26、. Rinse the test fluid from the test piece and dry with clean cloth using slight pressure. Inspect and evaluate according to Interpretation of Results (5.2). 5 Data 5.1 Calculations. Not applicable. 5.2 Interpretation of Results. The test pieces shall be examined with the naked eye and compared with
27、 untested reference samples and/or the unsubjected portion of the test piece. Reference samples shall be taken either from the same component or test sample, or from the same batch of components or test samples. After visual examination, the test pieces shall be rated according to the following crit
28、eria. If no rating or other criteria is specified, a rating of four (4) shall be applied. 5.2.1 Rating 1. This rating is typically used for plastics. No change of surface, e.g., change in gloss, shrinkage, discoloration, wrinkling (creasing), blistering, distortion, cracking, etc. 5.2.2 Rating 2. Th
29、is rating is typically used for organic-coated surfaces. No swelling, no dissolution, no change in gloss, no discoloration, no wrinkling (creasing) and no blistering. No changes detrimental to the function of the part. 5.3 Test Documentation. With reference to this test method, the results of the evaluation s
