2、terial Description. This standard covers the properties of a nominal 1700 MPa flexural modulus polyolefin alloy, high flow, pellet form, injection molding compound. For the purpose of this specification, polyolefin alloy is defined as an alloy of polypropylene plastic and ethylene/propylene (EP) or
3、ethylene/propylene diene monomer (EPDM) rubber. 1.1.1 Additional Characteristics. Materials certified to this standard may have additional characteristics, e.g., paintable, elastomer modified, etc. Possible additional characteristics are defined in GMW3013. 1.2 Symbols. The material abbreviation acc
4、ording to ISO 11469 is PP+EPDM-M20. 1.3 Typical Applications. Typical applications include the following: bumper fascias and rockers for mold-in-color (MIC) applications for accent colors, and two tone accent colored painted fascia where the MIC portion is the accent color. 2 References Note: Only t

7、andard shall meet the requirements of GMW3013, General Requirements for Handling of Technical Terms of Delivery for Plastics. 3.1 Requirements on Delivery. Important physical, mechanical and thermal properties that characterize the material are summarized in Table 1 and Table 2. Note: The requiremen
8、ts to Table 1 and Table 2 shall be documented for self-certification of the product according to GMW3013. The color shall be specified on drawings, in material specifications and otherwise. 3.2 Requirements on Test Specimens. Unless otherwise specified, injection molding of test specimens shall be a
9、ccomplished per ISO 294 with the conditions for injection molding from ISO 1873-2. Test methods and specimen dimensions are also to be in accordance with ISO 1873-2 with the following additions: use ISO 3167, Type A, thickness 4 mm for tensile and flexural properties. 11、ecimens 40 h minimum after molding and immediately following a conditioning period of 24 h minimum in a controlled atmosphere per GMW3221, Code A, unless otherwise specified. All tests shall be performed on unannealed specimens. The values specified in Table 1 shall be met by test specimens in natur
12、al or black. For colored grades where other pigment and additive systems (e.g., stabilizer) are used, the impact values shall not decrease more than 10% from the specified minimum value. 3.2.1 Chemical Requirements. All parts manufactured from molding compounds shall be resistant to the media they c
13、ontact at their place of use. 3.2.2 Requirements on Materials. See Table 1 and Table 2. 3.3 Performance Requirements. Performance requirements, e.g., flammability, fogging or resistance to odor, shall be specified on part drawings or in component specifications. 3.4 Additional Material Testing. Mate
14、rials approved to this specification will be required to have basic material properties generated so warp analysis modeling can be conducted. See GM Material Engineer for details. Prior to making measurements and observations on weathered specimens, wash the specimens with a solution consisting of 2 g
37、No. 7 Car Wash Concentrate (distributed by Armor All Products, Aliso Viejo, CA 92656) and 1 L deionized water 22 C 3 C. Use a soft sponge saturated with the solution and scrub the samples with a firm action. 4 Manufacturing Process Not applicable. 5 Rules and Regulations 5.1 Legal Regulations. All m
38、aterials must satisfy applicable laws, rules, regulations and recommendations valid in the country of usage. 5.2 Language. In the event of conflict between the English and domestic language, the English language shall take precedence. 5.3 Inspection and Rejection. Samples of components or materials
39、released to a GM material specification shall be tested for conformity with the requirements of this material specification and approved by the responsible Engineering department prior to commencement of delivery of bulk supplies. A new approval must be received for any changes, e.g., properties, ma
40、nufacturing process, location of manufacture, etc. If not otherwise agreed, all testing and documentation normally required for initial release must be completed. It is the responsibility of the supplier to inform the customer in a timely manner, without solicitation, and to include documentation of
41、 all modifications of materials and/or processes and to apply for a new release. In individual cases, a shorter test can be agreed to between th
43、e responsible Engineering department and the supplier. 5.4 Initial Source Approval. No shipments shall be made by any supplier until representative initial production samples have been approved by the appropriate Materials Engineering department(s) as meeting the requirements of this specification.
44、5.5 Material Safety Data Sheets/Safety Data Sheets (MSDS/SDS). For new product submissions, or when a change in chemical composition of an existing product has occurred, a complete copy of the Material Safety Data Sheet/Safety Data Sheet must be submitted in compliance with the Globally Harmonized S
45、ystem of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals (GHS) requirements or other country-specific MSDS/SDS requirements. In addition, product MSDS/SDS submissions must be in compliance with specific country General Motors TMC003 Material Safety Data Sheet/Safety Data Sheet guidance documents where avai
