2、rs hand rasps used for shaping wood items and enlarging openings. Salient characteristics: Mater i al : Carbon alloy steel. Design: Rasp teeth on each surface. Bastard-cut. Furnished in flat or half-round styles. GGG-F-325. Flat rasp: Width tapered from head to point. Thickness tapered from heel to
3、oint or uniform throughout. Two square edges, each single-cut 7 one set of parallel cuts on the surface). Half-round rasp: Width and thickness both tapered from heel to point, Tang: Teeth: Of a conventional shape and size suitable for attachment to a wood handle. Tempered to a maximum hardness of 45
4、 on the Rock- well C scale at a point approximately midway of its length and width. Formed by raising portions of the metal from the surface of the blank. Entirely separate from one another. 5、form hardness. The distance between the heel and point of the rasp, excluding the tang, shall be hardened to not greater than 68 nor less than 64 on the Rockwell C scale.
