REQUIREMENTS . 3.1 Preproduction sample. Unless otherwise spec
9、ified (see 6.1) and as soon as . practicable after award of the contract or order and prior to submission of any complete units for final acceptance, the supplier shall furnish a preproduction sample for inspection to determine conformance to this specification. Approval of the pre- production sampl
10、e by the activity concerned shall not relieve the supplier of his obliga- tion to supply furniture conforming to this specification. No changes or deviations from the approved preproduction sample will be acc .ptable without prior written approval from the contracting officer. 3.2 Identical items, A
11、ll units of the same classification furnished under any specific contract shall be physically mechanically identical. This requirement includes parts, assemblies, components, and accessories. No deviations will be acceptable without prior written approval, shown, however, the items shown represent t
12、he typical design required. Alternate designs offered shall be similar. 3.3 Design. All metal frame members shall be round section tubular steel
13、 conforming to 3.4.5. Legs shall be minimum 7/8 inch outside diameter, maximum 1-1/8 inches outside diameter. Legs may be swaged or tapered to smaller diameter as design requires. Each leg shall be fitted with ferrules and glides conforming to 3.4.3. Alternatively, rubber cushioned, self+locking umb
14、rella type glides having floor contact surface of stainlem steel may be used.
