SCOPE This specification covers the requirements of an extruded, rigid, flowable sealer. The material is intended to melt and flow during oven bake in order to seal body joints. 1.

3、1 This material must be smooth homogeneous mixture free of air, lumps and foreign objects. 1.2 The material must adhere to Steel, E-coated steel and SMC. 2. 4、c Gravity (ASTM D792) 1 to 2 typical. 3.2 Solids Content (GM9010P) 98% minimum. 3.3 Odour (GM9832) The sealer must not have a toxic or noxious odour. 3.4 Toxicity The material must not adversely affect those personnel handling it. PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS 4.1 Adhesion One set of sealer panels per each Steel or ELPO primed substrate shall be prepared and baked as follows: High Bake System 25 minutes at 157C Cool to room temp 25 minutes at 115C Low Bake System 25 minutes at 115

7、C Cool to room temp 25 minutes at 115C The material when baked as described above must not crack nor lose adhesion to the substrate during or after the following conditions: Initial After cooling at ambient conditions for 24 hours. Exterior Cycle (GM9505P, Cycle F) 6 weeks. Heat aging 14 days at 70C

8、 Humidity (GM4465P) 168 hours at 38C /100% RH Cold Resistance (GM9011P) Two 1.7 J impacts at -30 C. 10、ealer, 35 x 2.5 x 180 mm to the surface of a phosphated steel panel (inspect first to be sure it is free of surface corrosion). Bake panel for 1 hour at 205C. Remove the panel from the oven and allow to cool to room temperature. 4.2.1 Remove one sealer bead from the panel. There must not be any corr

11、osion on the panel surface under the sealer bead. 4.2.2 Humidity (GM4465P) 168 hours at 38C, 100% RH 4.2.3 Remove the second sealer bead from the surface of the panel after humidity test. There must not be any corrosion on the panel surface under the sealer. 5. PROCESS REQUIREMENTS 5.1 Smoke (GM9828

12、P) The material must not smoke up to 190C. 5.2 Blocking The sealant materials, as packaged, must not stick together when stacked one on top of another and subjected to 55 C for 72 hours with a 500 g load applied. 5.3 Tack Material must have no tack in the uncured state. STABILITY REQUIREMENTS (GM9763P) Material conditioned as described below, must be able to pass all requirements of this specification: 6.1 Elevated Temperature Stability The sealer, as shipped, must be capable

15、 of withstanding a temperature of 54C for 72 hours. 6.2 Low Temperature Stability The sealer, as shipped, must be capable of withstanding 3 cycles as detailed in 3.1.2.3 of test method GM9763P. 6.3 Storage Stability The shelf life of the material shall be 90 days at temperatures not to exceed 35C. 16、he shelf life on the material commences upon receipt of the material from the manufacturer. 7. APPROVAL, INSPECTION & REJECTION Refer HN 1000, Clauses A, C and G (Line Trial). 8.
