8、endations. Recommendation M.3000 (02/2000) 1 FOREWORD ITU (International Telecommunication Union) is the United Nations Specialized Agency in the field of telecommunications. The ITU Telecommunication Standardization Sector (ITU-T) is a permanent organ of the ITU. The ITU-T is responsible for studyi
9、ng technical, operating and tariff questions and issuing Recommendations on them with a view to standardizing telecommunications on a worldwide basis. The World Telecommunication Standardization Conference (WTSC), which meets every four years, establishes the topics for study by the ITU-T Study Grou
10、ps which, in their turn, produce Recommendations on these topics. The approval of Recommendations by the Members of the ITU-T is covered by the procedure laid down in WTSC Resolution No. 1. In some areas of information technology which fall within ITU-Ts purview, the necessary standards are prepared
11、 on a collaborative basis with IS0 and IEC. NOTE In this Recommendation, the expression “Administration“ is used for conciseness to indicate both a telecommunication administration and a recognized operating agency. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS The ITU draws attention to the possibility that the pra

The ITU takes no position concerning the evidence, validity or applicability of claimed Intellectual Property Rights, whether asserted by ITU members or others outside of the Recommendation d

As of the date of approval of this Recommendation, the ITU had not received notice of intellectual property, protected by patents, which may be required to implement this Recommendation. However, implementors are cautioned that this may not represent the latest information and ar

The contents of this Recommendation are the fields of application of TMN, areas to be studied (subject areas) in TMN Recommendations and areas of Recommendations that are referenced by TMN Recommendations (TMN-referenced Recommendations). Annexes A and B list the curre

The users of this Recommendation are expected to be the experts who develop individual TMN-related Recommendations, those who utilize TMNs to manage telecommunication networks, and vendors and suppliers who implement TMNs. 2 Fields of application TMNs provide the mean

TMNs can be used for the management of telecommunication networks operated by Administrations, ROAS, customers, or other organizations and individuals. When these telecommuni

All types of telecommunication networks and network elements - such as analogue networks, digital networks, public networks, private network

There is in principle no limit to the fields of application. Sinc

Properly defined management information is given a globally unique object identifier

Management-specific protocols include OSIs CMIP, FTAM, X.500, ED1 and COBAS GIOP transported over IP (IIOP). Select

The transfer syntax employed is described in the binary encoding rules (see Recommendation X.690). 6 Recommendation M.3000 (02/2000) 5.2.8 TMN utilizes the OS1 systems management services defined in the X.730-se
