Source Amendment 2 to ITU-T Recommendation V.92 (2000) was prepared by ITU-T Study Group 16 (2001-2004) and approved under

The ITU Telecommunication Standardization Sector (ITU-T) is a permanent org
6、an of ITU. IT-T is responsible for studying technical, operating and tariff questions and issuing Recommendations on them with a view to standardizing telecommunications on a worldwide basis. The World Telecommunication Standardization Assembly (WTSA), which meets every four years, establishes the t
7、opics for study by the IT-T study groups which, in turn, produce Recommendations on these topics. The approval of ITU-T Recommendations is covered by the procedure laid down in WTSA Resolution 1. In some areas of information technology which fall within ITU-Ts purview, the necessary standards are pr
8、epared on a collaborative basis with IS0 and IEC. NOTE In this Recommendation, the expression “Administration“ is used for conciseness to indicate both a telecommunication administration and a recognized operating agency. 12、V.90 Amendment 2 1) New clause 9.10.3 Add the following new clause to the Recommendation: 9.10.3 Interaction with error-correcting procedures When entering the on-hold state, error-correcting procedures such as ITU-T Rec. V.42 shall be suspended, for example, by freezing the acknowledgement timers.
13、When returning to data mode following a modem-on-hold session, the error-correcting procedures shall be resumed, for example by un-freezing the V.42 acknowledgement timers. It shall not be re- established as a new call, re-exchanging XID frames, nor use link re-establishment procedures. Even though
14、the originator and answerer roles might be reversed, ITU-T Rec. V.42 shall still use the same CommandResponse bits from the initial connection. ITU-T Rec.
