、ssengers who pass a background check are eligible to use expedited screening lanes. This allows the TSA to focus on travelers who are higher risk, saving time for everyone involved. 31、nderused PreCheck Lanes28 An article in Scientific America has pointed out that empirical research says that, actually, you think youre more beautiful than you are. We have a deep-seated need to feel good about ourselves and we naturally employ a number of self-enhancing strategies to achieve this.

、Social psychologists have amassed oceans of research into what they call the “above average effect ,“ or “ illusory superiority,“ and shown that, for example, 70% of us rate ourselves as above average in leadership, 93% in driving and 85% at getting on well with othersall obviously statistical impos

fricative“擦音”,affricate“塞擦音 ”,lateral“边音”。 A 项为 Ms Black worked inan office lastyesterday:B 项为 I calledyou half

、an hourago;C 项为 Wouldyou likea cupof tea;D 项为 Couldyou help me, please。 promise“允诺,使很有可能,有指望或希望”,agree“同意,赞成 ”,pretend“ 假装”,r

And yet“可是,然而”,Or else“ 否则,要不然 ”,If so“如果是这样的话”,Still worse“ 更糟糕的是”。

主语中包含定语从句“who broke into a church”,从句中的“found on his clothes”为插入语,只起到修饰 traces of wax 的作用。 故选 A。
