4、 of regulatory limits prior to use. 1.0 APPLICATION 1.1 Production Use This specification covers production automatic transmission fluid intended for use in Navistars Power Steering System requiring mineral oil based on TES 389TM fluid (DEXTRON III type) NAVISTAR Bulk P/N 6133055R1. 1.2 Service Use
5、In addition, this specification covers automatic transmission fluid intended for service use in power steering systems (Fleetrite P/N FLTPSDX3X, where the last X identifies the amount of fluid needed. For instance; P/N FLTPSDX3Q or P/N FLTPSDX3G (Q for Quart and G for Gallons). 2.0 SCOPE This specif
6、ication covers the physical and chemical properties for automatic transmission fluid meeting current TES 389TM requirements, quality plan, source approval, quality control, and shipping and identification requirements. 2.1 Restricted Chemical Substance Effective January 1, 2007, all product supplied
7、 to the requirements of this specification must comply with the requirements of the MPAPS B-50 specification. 3.0 REFERENCE DOCUMENTS Unless otherwise specified, the latest issue of all referenced standards shall apply. ASTM D2983; At -40 C (-40F) centipoise 20,000 maximum for mineral oil based products. 4.1.2 Viscosity Index (ASTM D2270) Shall be 165 mi
11、nimum for mineral oil based products. 4.1.3 Pour Point (ASTM D97) Shall be -42C (-44F) maximum. 4.1.4 Flash Point (ASTM D92) Shall be 177C (350F) minimum. 4.1.5 Foaming (ASTM D892) When tested at the following temperatures, foaming tendency and foam stability shall be as follows: Sequence Foam Tende

13、QUALITY All product supplied shall be suitable for the intended application clean and free from foreign materials and dirt, and suitably packaged and identified. SEPTEMBER 2016 Page 3 of 4 6.0 QUALIFICATION Engineering qualification of sources is required in advance of production. Material submitt
15、ed for qualification shall be accompanied by detailed test information and certification that material meets all requirements of this specification. 6.1 Quality Control Plan A Quality Control Plan for products supplied to the requirements of this specification will be established by mutual agreement
16、 between NAVISTAR and the supplier. Unless specific exception is noted, the following characteristics, where applicable*, shall be included in the plan as features for management by statistical process control.* * Other characteristics for inclusion in the control plan may be specified on the engine
17、ering drawing and/or purchase order. * See NAVISTAR Engineering Design Standard A-16 7.0 SOURCE APPROVAL AND QUALITY CONTROL 7.1 Supplier Requirements All suppliers to NAVISTAR are required to be registered to ISO 9001 Quality System Requirements. NAVISTAR will also accept TS-16949 registration as l
18、ong as the supplier can also fulfill all AIAG PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) documentation and approval requirements. Suppliers must maintain their certification with an accredited registrar and must furnish copies of registration certificates to their Corporate Buyer upon request. 7.2 Appr
19、oval Parts supplied against contracts or purchase orders citing this specification shall be equivalent in all respects to those samples which were approved by the purchaser. No changes in formulation or processing practices are permitted without approval. In the event that changes in material, prope
20、rties, processing practices, construction, color, or labeling of the product are required, the supplier shall notify NAVISTAR Materials Engineering and Purchasing and Supplier Development of the proposed change(s). Test data indicating conformance to all requirements of this specification, test samp
21、les, and new or amended or updated Material Safety Data Sheet(s) (MSDS), in accordance with CFR Title 29, Part 1910 shall be submitted with the request for change 7.3 Process Control The supplier shall either, perform and report results of tests on specific lots of parts produced using ISO 9001 or T
22、S-16949 guidelines, or provide statistical evidence of the lot having been produced in a state of statistical control and with a process capable of providing all required properties. The part supplier and the quality control manager of the using NAVISTAR plant may determine testing and reporting req
23、uirements on specific products.
