JUNE 2015 Page 2 of 3 2.0 POLICY FOR SELECTING PARTS FOR NEW DESIGN: Approved parts are so designated to reduce variety of parts and assure maximum availability, interchangeability and cost savings in volume
8、buying. For new design, parts shall be selected from “Approved“ part list only. 9、0 THREADS: American National Standard Taper Pipe Thread ANSI B2.1. The gaging limit will be plus or minus one thread. Threads will be chamfered to a 45 angle, one thread deep. All brass nipples shown in section 8.0 must be made with Dryseal American Standard Taper Pipe Thread (NPTF) per SAE J476. Se
10、alant Coating: All fittings that have external pipe threads will be furnished with a pre-applied sealant coating on the pipe threads that meets the requirements of CEMS D-31. 4.0 FINISHES: As designated by part number, pipe nipples will be furnished plain, plated or coated in accordance with MPAPS a
11、nd class listed below: Zinc Trivalent, Class 6A (ZN6A) MPAPS G-20, Class 6A Phosphate Coating (PHC) MPAPS G-1, Class B-2 Galvanized (GAL) Pipe - will be coated with zinc inside and outside by the hot dip process. Zinc used for the coating will be any grade of zinc conforming to specification for sla
12、b zinc (ASTM B-6). Weight of zinc coating will not be less than 2.0 ounces per square foot of total coated surface. Short (close) nipples are not galvanized. Nipples are threaded after galvanizing or plating. Galvanized parts must be brushed after threading to remove excess coating. 5.0 RESTRICTED C
13、HEMICAL SUBSTANCES: Effective January 1, 2007, all product supplied to the requirements of this specification must comply with the requirements of the MPAPS B-50 specification. 6.0 WORKMANSHIP: Pipe nipples must be free from burrs, loose scale, sharp edges and all other defects that might affect the
