21、ting. The following tests shall be performed in accordance with 43, except as provided in Specification MIL 1-45208. 4.2.3.1 B?eakaway torque. A breakaway torque shall be applied toeach catapult threaded joint listed in 3.2. Failure of any unit to comply with the requirements of Table I shall be cau
22、se for rejection of the catapult. 4.2.3.2 Residual magnern. Each catapult shall be tested for excessive residual mag- netism, Failure of any catapult to comply with the requirements of 3.4 shall be cause for rejection of the catapult. 4.2.3.3 Functional. The following test shall be performed by the
23、Government : 4.2.3.3.1 Ballistics. Fourteen units shall be tested to determine compliance with the re- quirements of 3.5.1, 3.5.2 and 3.5.3. The units shall be temperature conditioned as provided in Table IV and 4.3.3.1.1. The variables sampling plan of MIL-STD-414, Example C-2, for AQL listed in Ta
24、ble IV shall be used for each sample of 10 units. Failure of any unit to comply with the re- quirements of 3.6.1, 3.5.2 ana 3.5.3 or failure of a sample to meet the criteria of the variables sampling plan shall be cause for rejection of the lot. The exami- nation and tests shall be made using equip- ment listed on IEL-8593686, except as pro- vided
26、in Specification MIL-1-45208, 4.3 Test methods and procedures. 4.3.1 Brenka.way tolqzce. A torque wrench set at the torque requirement specified in 3.2 shall be used to determine the adequacy of the joints. The assembly shall be secured in the fixture prior- to applicatron of the torque. 4.3.2 Resid
27、ual magnetism. The catapult shall be tested for excessive residual mag- netism in an area free of local magnetic effects by placing the catapult 6 inches from, and at the same height as, the com- pass in a north-south horizontal position (trunnion end at south) with the compass set in an east-west h
28、eading as shown in Figure I. The catapult shall be moved slowly past the compass in a longitudinal direcfjon for its entire length, rotated 180 degrees in the horizontal position about its longi- tudinal axis and moved slowly back past the compass. 4.3.3 Ftmctional. 4.3.3.1 BaZZkt.ics. The catapult
29、shall be rigidly supported in the fixture by the mounting points and fired with an M3A1 Initiator connected to the catapult with 10 feet of aircraft hose, size 4, as specified in Standard MS-28741. The catapult shall comply with the requirements of 3.5. The catapult shall be tested within 10 minutes
30、 after removal from the conditioning cham- ber. When this time limit is exceeded, the catapult shall be reconditioned at the orig- inal temperature. 4.3.3.1.1 Tempwatrzcre conditzo?ki,g. A standard M5Al Catapult, loacled with a dummy M28A1 Cartridge containing a tem- perature sensitive element, shal
