Tlie following document forms a part of this spe

9、cification. Unless otherwise indicated, the issue in effect on date of invitation for bids shall apply. CODE OF FEDERAL REGULATIONS 49 cm 171-178 Transportation, and the main propellant charge, Drawing 2838200; are defined as primry ccxponents . See 4.3.3. 3.3.1 Ignition element- The MARK 14 MOD O e

10、lectrical ignition element used in the MARK 125 MOD O impulse cartridge shall be manu- factured in accordance with the drawings listed on DL 2520046 and shall meet the applicable requirements of AS-3-075. The ignition elements shall be from lots manufactured within the preceding 12 mnths. See 4.7.i.

11、 3.3.2 Propellant charge. 3.3.2.1 Quantit . All propellant charges shall be as specified on Drawing 283 + 200 Charges shall be determined by weight rather than by volume measurements. 3.3.2.2 Smokeless powder, handling and loading. Do not subject sniokeless powder to unnecessary handling or exposure

12、 to the atmosphere. The handling and loading of smokeless powder exposed to the atmosphere shall be perfomed only under conditions that do not permit the relative humiity to exceed 75 percent. 3.3.2.3 Smokeless powder, condition. The smokeless powder utilized 3.4 Cartridge inspection. 3.4.1 Visual i

13、nspection. Cartridges shall be free of the following shall exhibit no evidence of decomposition. See 4.7.2. visible deyects: burrs, dents, deep scratches, split or cracked crimp, defective sealant application around crimp, chipped surfaces, or other defects which may prevent entry of the cartridge i

14、nto the firing chamber, or affect the stability or resistance of the cartridge to misture. See 4.7.k. 3.4.2 Erige circuit resistance. The resistance of the bridge circuit in each completely assembled cartridge, when measured electrically as specified in 4.7.3, shall be not less than 1.0 ohm nor more

15、 than 1.2 ohms. 3.4.3 Leakage. Cartridge leakage rate shall not exceed lo- cc of air or gas per second when tested in accordance with 4.7.5. 3.5 No-fire. Each cartridge of the preproduction sample and each cartridge of the production lot ballistic and cartridge integrity samples shall meet the no-fi

Cartridges fwm each production lot, selecter! in acccrdance with 4.9.1, shall meet the requirements listed belov when subJzcted to

17、 the test prescribed in 11.9.2. 3.6.1 Velocity. The lower limit (L) of velocity shall be 16 ftisec. See k .9.2 .i . 3.6.2 Misfire. There shall be no misfires. See 4.9.2.1.2. 3.6.3 Hangfire. There shall be no hangfires, See 4.9.2.1.3. 3.6.4 Propellant gas leakage. There shall be no propellant gas lea

18、kage. See 4.9.2.1.4. 3.7 Cartridge integrity. Cartridges froin each production lot, selected in accordance with k.9.1, shall exhibit no evidence of propellant gas leakage when subjected to the test of 4.9.3. 3.8 Change in propellant lot. Whenever a change occurs in the propellant lot, test firings s

19、hall be conducted in accordance with 4.11. 22、 No cartridge shall produce results outside the velocity limit of 3.6.1 and no cartridge shall fail to meet the requirements of 3.6.2 through 3.6.4. 23、tated above shall cause rejection of the preproduction sample. Tolerance . The above cartridge firings shall be conducted in an Aero 7A 4.3.3 Production lot. Unless otherwise specified in the contract; the cartridge producticn lot size shall be 5000 minimum. -Only primary components from a single lo

24、t shall be used in a production lot of car- triages; however, one primary component production lot may be used in more than one cartridge production lot. 4.4 Gsges. The contractor shall provide gages as necessary to insure that the material to which this specification applies will meet the dimension

The characteristics verified by the tests anci exaxinat

26、ions herein are classified as Critical, Major cr VLnor in accordance with WR-43. Tests and examinations that verify critical characteristics are identified by the symbol (C) and major characteristics by the symbol (M). The number following the classifi- caticjn symbol indicates the serial number of

27、test or examination. Tests and examinations which are not annotated with a classification code are classified minor, 4.6 Quality confomnce inspection. A sample of 20 cartridges from each production lot and 20 cartridges from the preproduction sample shall be fired to test the ability of the cartridges to contain the propellant gases. the cartridge

39、s shall be conditioned at +TO0 -4 5OF for a minimum perioo of six hours and fired in a closed test chamber. The test chamber shall have an internal volume, with a fired cartridge in place, of 2.00 f .O5 cubic inches, and the capability of withstanding an internal pressure of 30,500 pounds per square

40、 inch, minimum. After having met the no-fire requirements of 4.8, 4.9.3.1 Criteria of acceptability. After firing, the ignition element end of each cartridge of the preproduction sample and each cartridge of the production lot ballistic and cartridge integrity samples shall be examined for evidence

41、of propellant gas leakage through or around the igiition element. If one or more cartridges of the pre- pmduction sample exhibit evidence of propellant gas leakage or fail to fire, the preproduction sample shall be rejected. If one or more cartridges of the production lot samples (ballistic or cartr

42、idge integrity) exhibit evidence of propellant gas leakage or fail to fire, the production lot shall be-rejected. 4 ,lo Retest. There shall be no retests 4.10.1 Test failure. If test failure is attributable to an assignable cause, excluding the test cartridges, the original test results shouid be di

43、scarded and that portion of the test reconducted. 4.11 Change in propellant lot. Whenever a change in propellant lot occurs, the charge weight shall be verified by firing 36 cartridges which havebeen temperature conditioned for a minimum of six hours (12 at -65O f 5OF, 12 at +TO0 f 5OF and 12 at +2

47、ngs. 5.3.1 Special markings. Marking of exterior containers shall be in accordance with the Code of Feeral Regulations 49 CFR lr(l-l(6. 5.3.2 Ilormal markings. Unless otherwise specified in the contract or order, the marking information on unit packages and shipping containers shall be as specified

48、on Drawings 2838211 and 2838210, respectively. The specified marking information shall be applied to the containers in accorance with the applicable provisions of MIL-STD-w. 6. NOTES 6.1 Intended use. The MARK 125 MOD O impulse cartridge was originally iiesigned to eject stores from aircraft. 6.2 Or
