REQUIREMENTS 3.1 First article. When specified (see 6.2), samples shall be subjected to first article inspection in accordance with
17、4.2. 3.2 Materials. Materials shall be corrosion resistant or treated to resist corrosion due to fuels, salt spray, environmental, chemical, or biological warfare conditions. 3.2.1 Aluminum alloy. Aluminum alloy parts shall be anodically treated as specified in MIL-A-8625. 3.2.2 Dissimilar metals. D
18、issimilar metals shall not be used in intimate contact with each other. Dissimilar metals shall be as defined in MIL-STD-889. 3.2.3 Non-metallic materials. Rubber seals and O-rings shall meet the requirements specified in SAE-AMs3238 and the requirements specified herein (see 3.5.7). 3 Provided by I

Elastomeric components shall have a shelf life of greater than 5 years in accordance with MIL-HDBK-695 when consistent with th
20、e properties required for functionality 3.2.6 Toxic materials. The use of materials which produce toxic effects under any conditions shall not be used. 3.2.7 Flammable materials. The use of materials which will support combustion shall not be used. 3.3 Desim and construction. The quick disconnect va
21、lve shall be designed and constructed as shown on figure 1. The valve shall form part of the A/P 22P-9(v) Protection Assembly as shown in figure 2. The valve shall be installed in-line between the mask and tactical ventilator to provide emergency egress and quick disconnection during ground operatio
22、ns and water landings. Design and construction shall permit decontamination of external surfaces without damage to or deterioration of the valve or its protective capability using materials and procedures of Army FM 3-5. The valve shall be compatible with oxygen and oxygen systems of Naval Air Syste
23、ms Command and prevent ingress of all forms of contamination. 3.3.1 Storage life. The quick disconnect valve shall be designed to meet the performance requirements herein after five years storage under worldwide climatic conditions specified in MIL-HDBK-3 1 O. 3.3.2 Interchangeability. All parts, as
24、semblies and subassemblies, having the same part number, shall be identical as specified in MIL-HDBK-505 and MIL-STD-100. When any unit or part is interchanged, the quick disconnect valve shall meet all performance requirements without adjustment or modification of any part or subassembly. 3.4 Hardw
25、are. 3.4.1 Fasteners. All fasteners, including bolts, screws, nut, rivets, and washers shall be selected from the fasteners listed in the Department of Defense Index of Specifications and Standards (DoDISS). 3.5 Performance. 3.5.1 Separation force. The valve shall withstand the separation force requ
26、irements in the unlocked and locked positions as follows. 3.5.1.1 Unlocked. The maximum axial force required to separate the quick disconnect valve at the quick disconnect fitting shall be not greater than five pounds (22.2 newtons) when tested as specified in 4.5.2.1.1. 4 Provided by IHSNot for Res

The quick disconnect valve shall not separate at the quick disconnect fitting while in the locked p
29、osition under a minimum axial force of 100 pounds (440.0 newtons), when tested as specified in 4.5.2.1.2. 3.5.2 Self sealing valve. The force required to open the self-sealing valve, contained within the male portion of the quick disconnect valve, shall be not greater than four pounds (17.8 newtons)
30、 when tested as specified in 4.5.2.2. 3.5.3 Air leakage. The overall leakage rate of the quick disconnect valve shall be not greater than 0.006 cubic inch/min (O. 10 cc/min) when tested for suction or pressure as specified in 4.5.2.3.1 and 4.5.2.3.2. 3.5.4 Pressure drop. The pressure drop through th
31、e quick disconnect valve shall be not greater than 0.5 inch water gauge (WG) when tested as specified in 4.5.2.4. 3.5.5 Water leakage. The self-sealing valve shall be water-tight (zero leakage) when tested as specified in 4.5.2.5. 3.5.6 Noise level. The noise level, measured with the quick disconnec
32、t valve connected to the CQK-2/P tactical ventilator delivery hose outlet, shall be not greater than the noise levels shown on figure 3 as determined by 1/3 octave band analysis over the frequency range 200-5000 Hz when tested as specified in 4.5.2.6. 3.5.7 Chemical agent penetration. The coupling s
33、eals and O-ring materials of the quick disconnect valve shall have an endpoint time of not less than 360 minutes when tested as specified in 4.5.2.7.1, 4.5.2.7.2, and 4.5.2.7.3. 3.5.8 Endurance. Prior to and upon completion of the endurance test of 4.5.3, the quick disconnect valve shall meet the re
34、quirements of 3.5.1, 3.5.2, 3.5.3, and 3.5.4 without failure after 500 cycles when tested as specified in 4.5.3. 3.5.9 Environmental. The quick disconnect valve shall meet the requirements of 3.5.1, 3.5.2, 3.5.3, 3.5.4, and 3.5.5 prior to and at the completion of each environmental test of 4.5.4. 3.
35、5.9.1 Hi& temperature. The quick disconnect valve shall operate without failure when tested as specified in 4.5.4.1. 3.5.9.2 Low temperature. The quick disconnect valve shall operate without failure when tested as specified in 4.5.4.2. 3.5.9.3 Salt fog. The quick disconnect valve shall withstand bot

38、ct valve shall withstand the effects of icing produced by a freezing rain and shall operate without failure when tested as specified in 4.5.4.4. 3.5.9.5 Funws. The quick disconnect valve shall not support fwigal growth and shall operate without failure when tested as specified in 4.5.4.5. 3.5.9.6 Lo
39、w pressure/high humidity. The quick disconnect valve shall operate without failure when tested as specified in 4.5.4.6. 3.5.9.7 Dust. The quick disconnect valve shall withstand the effects of blowing dust and shall operate without failure when tested as specified in 4.5.4.7. 3 59.8 Normal accelerati
40、on. The quick disconnect valve shall not inadvertently disconnect and shall operate without failure when tested as specified in 4.5.4.8. 3.5.9.9. Hi& temperature/diurnal cycle/high humidity. The quick disconnect valve shall operate without failure when tested as specified in 4.5.4.9. 3.6 Component p
41、arts. The quick disconnect valve shall consist of a male portion and a female portion (see 3.6.1 and 3.6.2). 3.6.1 Male portion. The male portion (see figure 1) of the quick disconnect valve shall be attached to the air inlet hose of the MCK-3/P mask and shall contain a self-sealing valve which auto
42、matically closes when the two portions are separated. The self-sealing valve shall be able to be opened by a CBR protected, gloved hand when the quick disconnect is separated to allow air to flow freely into the mask. 3.6.2 Female portion. The female portion (see figure 1) of the quick disconnect va
43、lve shall be attached to the CQK-2/P tactical ventilator delivery hose and shall contain a single action one-hand operated, locking mechanism to prevent inadvertant disconnection and to allow for quick disconnection with one CBR protected gloved hand. 3.7 Dimensions. The overall length of the quick
44、disconnect valve shall be not greater than five inches. The outside diameter shall be not greater than 1.5 inches. 3.8 Wei&. The weight of the quick disconnect valve shall be not greater than eight ounces. 3.9 Color. The quick disconnect valve shall be black in color, approximately matching color nu
45、mber 37038 of FED-STD-595. 3.1 O Nameplates and identification markings. The quick disconnect valve shall be free from contamination and imperfections such as dirt, grease, oil, foreign matter, malfunctioning of hardware and damage such as cracks, burrs, sharp edges, rough grinding marks, and uneven surfaces due to forming operations. Rubber
47、 parts shall be free of damage, cuts, and tears. Particular attention shall be given to accuracy of dimensions, fillet radii, marking of parts and assemblies, thoroughness of welding, brazing, painting, swaging, and soldering, alignment of parts, and tightness of assembly screws and bolts. 4. VERIFI
48、CATION 4.1 Classification of inspections. The inspection requirements specified herein are classified as follows: a. First article inspection (see 4.2). b. Conformance inspection (see 4.3). 4.2 First article inspection. First article inspection shall be performed on three quick disconnect valves whe
49、n a first article sample is required (see 3.1). This inspection shall be completed in the order specified in table I. 4.3 Conformance inspection. Conformance inspection shall consist of all the examinations and tests specified in table II. 4.4 Test conditions. 4.4.1 Temperature and pressure. Inspections shall be conducted at local ambient temperature and barometric pressure. Corrections shall be m
