13、ver, shall supersede applicable laws and regulations unless a specific exemption has been obtained. 3 . REQUIREMENTS. 3.1 Item description. The device consists of a housing and a lanyard- activated firing pin. 3.2 Characteristics. 3.2.1 Performance. During tail fin deployment, when a load is applied
14、 to the firing device lanyard such that the firing pin retracts and releases, the firing pin shall obtain a kinetic energy of 45 to 125 inch- ounces when the firing pin reaches the end of the firing device housing. 3.2.2 Environmental. The device shall not be damaged or its performance degraded afte
15、r exposure to the environments specified in 3.2.2.1 through 3.2.2.5. 3.2.2.1 High temperature. The device shall withstand exposure to a high temperature of +74 degrees Celsius (“Cl for 48 hours. 3.2.2.2 Low temperature. The device shall withstand exposure to a low temperature of.-48OC for 24 hours.
16、3.2.2.3 Temperature shock. The device shall withstand alternate sequen- tial exposure to temperatures of -48C and +74“C. L l. i i i 3.2.2.4 Mechanical shock. The device shall withstand exposure to half sine wave impact shocks having a peak amplitude of 15 gravity units (8) and a total duration of 11

The device shall withstand exposure to the vibration spectrum specified on Figure 1 in each of three mutually perpendicular axes . 3.3 Design an
18、d construction. 3.3.1 Production drawings. The device shall be fabricated and assembled in accordance with Drawing 143388864 and associated documents, and as specified herein. 3.3.1.1 Radiographic. The device shall show no evidence of defects and the internal construction shall be in accordance with
19、 Drawing 143388864 and associated documents. 3.3.2 Standards of manufacture. 3.3.2.1 Certification. When specified in the contract or purchase order * (see 6.2.2), the contractor shall prepare certification for the procuring activity, accompanied by objective quality evidence in accordance with MIL-
20、STD-109, that the materials, processes, and parts used in the assembly meet the applicable requirements for each item. 3.3.2.2 Working environments. Any special working environments for the manufacture of the device shall be in accordance with MlL-B-85251. 3.3.3 Marking. Each device shall be marked
21、in accordance with MIL- STD-130, with the manufacturers name or symbol, part number, and manu- facturers lot designation. The markings shall be in accordance with Drawing 143388864 and associated documents. 3.4 First article. When specified in the contract or purchase order, a sample shall be subjec
22、ted to first article inspection (see 4.2 and 6.2.3). 3.5 Workmanship. The device shall be fabricated in a manner that ensures compliance with all requirements of this specification and Drawing 143383864, fabrication and assembly practices shall be in accordance with MIL-STD-454, Re q ui reme n t 9 .
23、 Unless otherwise specified herein or on Drawing 143388864, 4. QUALITY, ASSURANCE PROVISIONS. 4.1 Responsibility for inspection. Unless otherwise specified in the contract or purchase order (see 6.2.1), the contractor is respon- sible for the performance of all inspection requirements as specified h

The inspection requirements specified herein are classified as follows: a. First article inspections (see 4.2). b. Quality conformance inspections (see 4.3).
29、 4.2 First article. When specified in the contract or purchase order (see 6.2.31, a first article inspection shall be performed on 15 devices manufactured using the same methods, materials, p;ocesses, and procedures proposed for production. Any production prior to acceptance of the first article sam
30、ple shall be at the risk of the contractor. 4.2.1 First article inspections. First article inspections shall be conducted on the first article sample and shall consist of the inspections of Table I in the sequence shown. 4.2.1.1 Acceptance criteria. The failure of one or more devices to pass any of
31、the first article tests and inspections of Table I shall cause rejection of the first article sample. 4.2,1,2 First article inspection report. When specified in the con- tract or purchase order (see 6.2.2), a first article inspection report shall be prepared for the procuring activity. The report sh
32、all contain the following infoFmation accompanied by certification (see 6.2.2) which attests that the information provided is correct and applicable to the pro- duct being submitted: a.
