14、n the text of 3. REQUIREMENTS 3.1 Item description. The test set shall test the aircraft launcher maintenance level. The test set shall be capable of determining that all required voltages and signals are available to the launcher system, and shall monitor critical functions continuously for stray e
15、lectrical energy. i The test set shall perform multiple functional tests simultaneously and indicate failure of a tested function by lighting a FUNCTION SELECT NO-GO indicator. If a NO-GO indication occurs, the operator must be able to troubleshoot the individual interface circuits by selecting the
16、appropriate line with a LINE SELECT switch and read voltages on a digital voltmeter (DVM). Stray electrical energy on critical functions shall be monitored continuously with results indicated on separate GO/NO-GO indicators. Stray electrical energy NO-GO results are not required to be line selectabl
17、e. Internal self test circuitry continuously monitors test set condition and shall indicate an unserviceable test set by causing the SELECTED FUNCTION NO-GO indicator to continuously flash ON and OFF. (LAU-IA) for the AIM-gD/G/H/L/M weapon systems at the organizational . 3.1.1 General. The test set
18、shall be comprised of a front panel with permanently attached chassis and a card cage assembly attached to the chassis. The card cage shall contain 12 printed circuit cards. cage shall be hinged together at one side to allow the card cage to be opened, away from the chassis, to expose the chassis mo
19、unted and front panel mounted omponents. The chassis and card cage shall be retained together, at the side opposite the hinge, by spring loaded detent fasteners. The test set shall not test the SIDEWINDER missile, but shall simulate the missile to test the capability of the aircraft to supply required launcher inputs, and shall test the launcher capability to supply required missile inputs. The test results shall be indicated on a front-panel mounted
21、 GO, or NO-GO indicator. 3.1.1.2 Stray energy tests, The test set shall indicate a GO condition on the front panel mounted STRAY ENERGY GO indicator as long as safe limits are not exceeded. The STRAY ENERGY NO-GO indicator lamp shall light when stray energy is in excess of safe limits. 3.1.1.3 Test
22、set, 1 auncher/pyl on interface. The test set shall connect to launcher via the iqniter contact block of Cable Assembly W1, The W1P1 of the W1 cable shall connect to the test set. The W1P2 connector interfaces with adapter W2 for the pylon connection. 3.1.2 Major components. Table I lists the major

When specified in t
27、he contract or purchase order, a sample shall be subjected to first article inspection (see 4.4 and 6.3). 3.3 Parts and materials. 3.3.1 General requirements. Parts and materials used in the test set shall conform to the requirements of DL 1058AS1100, except insofar as errors on the drawings may be
28、incompatible with the requirements of this specification and re1 ated speci f i cati ons . 3.3.2 Nonstandard parts approval. Approval for the use of nonstandard parts shall be obtained by the contractor as specified in MIL-STD-965. 3.3.3 Supplemental requirements. In the event that the contractor pr
29、oposes to alter the equipment delineated by this specification and applicable drawings, the supplemental requirements specified in 3.3.3.1 and 3.3.3.2 for the- selection of parts and materials shall be applicable. 3.3.3.1 Basic conformance. Parts and materials selected for use in the equipment shall
30、 be as specified in MIL-T-28800. Parts shall be selected from those conforming to MIL-E-5400, unless the parts selected will not perform as required in the intended applications and environments specified herein, in which case 3.3.2 applies. 3.3.3.2 Interchangeability. All parts and materials shall

The test set shall operate as required continuously or intermittently, for a period of at least eight hours. this time,-it shall not be necessary to readjust any controls. During 3.4.1.2 Operating life. The test
34、set shall have a minimum total operating life of 10,000 hours with minimal servicing and replacement of parts. 3.4.1.3 Reliability in mean-time-between.fa1ure.s (MTBF). The test set shall have a lower mean- (operating) time-between-failures of 250 hours (01) as specified in MIL-STD-781 when tested i
35、n accordance with 4.5.3. 3.4.2 Standard conditions. The test set shall comply with all electromagnetic radiation and susceptibility requirements of MIL-STD-461, Class 1C except as sp

Performance of the test set 3.4.3.1 External power. The test set shall meet performance characteristics

A lamp test of the SELECTED FUNCTION GO/NO-GO and STRAY ENERGY GO/NO-GO lamps shall be performed in the FUNCTION SELECT switch TD position. 3.4
43、.4 Interface requirements. The test set shall be capable of physical and electrical interface to the launcher LAU-7A or to the aircraft pylon for performance of tests. Table III lists the tests and the electrical interface required to perform launcher tests. for pylon tests. Tables IV and V contain
44、the accept and reject limits for 1 auncher and pylon interface requirements. upper and lower voltage limits are the transition regions between the illumination of the GO and NO-GO lamps. When a signal being tested is between the transition regions, the GO lamp shall illuminate. When a signal being t
45、ested is within a transition region either the GO or the NO-GO lamp may illuminate. When a signal being tested is beyond the minimum lower limit or the maximum upper limit, the NO-GO lamp shall illuminate. The test set shall be connected to the launcher by cable W1 or to the pylon connector using py
46、lon adapter W2 and cable W1. All requirements and limits shall be specified at the cable W1, P2 interface for both launcher and.pylon functions.
