SCOPE:1.1 Form: This specification covers one weight and type of weave of aramidcloth.1.2 Application: Primarily for use in the fabrication of specia

6、l clothing.1.3 Classification: Shall consist of 4.3 oz per sq yd (145 g/m) aramid clothwith a plain weave and the following classes:Class 1 - Type 456 fiberClass 2 - Type 452 fiberClass 3 - Type 457 fiber2. APPLICABLE DOCUMENTS: See AMS 3907.3. TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS:3.1 Basic Specification: The com

7、plete requirements for procuring the clothdescribed herein shall consist of this document and the latest issue of thebasic specification, AMS 3907.3.2 Properties: Shall conform to the requirements of Table I and the following:3.2.1 Yarn: Shall be 2 ply.3.2.2 Flame Resistance, Class 1: The flame from

8、 a Meker burner shall not passfrom the flame side to the other side of the cloth due to the clothbreaking open.SAE INTERNATIONAL AMS3907/2 Page 2 of 5 3.2.3 Color: The color of each cloth shall be obtained by the use of dry spunsolution dyed fiber and shall be as shown below; colors shown are theman

9、ufacturers identification number for each color.Fiber Type Color452 Sage Green 1565456 Sage Green 1590457 Olive Green 1063.2.3.1 Matching: The color of the finished cloth shall match the standardsample under artificial daylight having a correlated color temperatureof 7,000 Kelvin 500 and shall be a

10、good approximation to the standardsample under incadescent lamplight at 2,850 Kelvin 100.3.2.3.2 Colorfastness: The dyed and finished cloth shall show colorfastness tolight and to laundering equal to or better than the standard sample.3.2.4 Weave: Shall be a plain weave.3.2.5 Width: Shall be not les

11、s than 45 in. (1,140 mm) inclusive of thethe cloth should be as specified and shall be not less than the width ofthe woven cloth, excluding the selvages.3.2.6 Nonfibrous Material: Prior to application of the antistatic finish, thecloth shall contain no more than 1.0% starch and protein material,incl

12、uding the chloroform-soluble and water-soluble material.3.2.7 Finishing: Cloth shall be desized, scoured, heat set and given a suitabledurable antistatic finish (See 8.2) to meet the requirements of Table I.3.2.7.1 Finishing Procedure: Cloth should be finished by a procedure equivalentto the followi

13、ng:3.2.7.1.1 Scour open width on continuous scouring range at 70C 3 (160F 5)in a scouring solution of 0.07 oz per gal (0.5 g/L) oftrisodiumphosphate and detergent.3.2.7.1.2 Dry at 150C 5 (300F 9) to set construction.3.2.7.1.3 Autoclave heat set using the following procedure:5 min. pre-vacuum20 min.

14、30 psi (207 kPa) steam5 min. vacuum20 min. 30 psi (270 kPa) steam5 min. vacuumselvages. When the cloth has a shuttleless loom selvages, the width ofSAE INTERNATIONAL AMS3907/2 Page 3 of 5 3.2.7.1.3.1 Prior to the calendering, do not stretch the cloth during drying, ineither direction, such that the

15、warp is raised and the filling isburied, or vice-versa. The calendering, to be uniform and developan uniform sheen on the cloth, must score or line both warp andfill. If the calender has a polish roll, this should be by-passedor not used.3.2.7.1.3.2 The calender should have a standard bottom roll wi

16、th a hardness ofthe horizontal (up to 90 degrees).3.2.7.1.3.3 The autoclaving should follow the calendering in sequence to set theeffects of calendering into the cloth.3.2.7.1.3.4 Each finisher should have a standard sample on hand showing thedesired sheen on the finished cloth for comparison with,

17、and forcontrol of, mill production.3.2.7.1.3.5 The calendering conditions, to match the standard, will beapproximately 30 ton (27,215 kg) pressure at 215C 5 (425F 9).The sheen should be checked after calendering and again after autoclaving until the required conditions on the mills equipmentare defi

18、ned.3.2.7.1.3.6 The cloth selvage should not be so wide or so thick as to preventthe calendering from developing the desired sheen on the body cloth.3.2.7.1.4 Pad on the antistatic solution:6.6% antistatic material (See 8.2)2.7% accelerator material (See 8.2)Set pH at 6.5Wet pick up 50 to 60%Dry at
