25、0 inch (over 101.60 to 152.40mm) thick plate shall be tested in accordance with ASTM E466. When tested at a stress ratio of R=0.1 at a maximum stress of 35.0 ksi (241 MPa), the fatigue life shall meet the requirementsof Table 3. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS4.1 Responsibility for InspectionThe vendor of plate shall supply all samples for vendors tests and shall be responsible for the performance of all required tests. Purchaser reserves the right to
29、 sample and to perform any confirmatory testing deemed necessary to ensure that the plate conforms to the specified requirements.SAE INTERNATIONAL AMS4364 Page 5 of 64.2 Classification of Tests4.2.1 Acceptance TestsComposition (3.1), tensile properties (3.3.1), corrosion resistance (3.3.2), toleranc
30、es (3.5), when specified, fatigue resistance (3.3.5), and when specified, ultrasonic soundness (3.4.1) are acceptance tests and except for composition, shall be performed on each inspection lot.4.2.2 Periodic TestsExfoliation corrosion resistance (3.3.3) and stress corrosion cracking (3.3.4) are per
31、iodic tests and shall be performed at afrequency selected by the vendor unless frequency of testing is specified by purchaser.4.3 Sampling and TestingShall be in accordance with AMS2355 and the following:4.3.1 Tensile TestingTensile specimens shall be taken with axis of specimens parallel to each ap
32、plicable grain flow direction specified in Table 2.4.3.2 Fatigue Resistance TestingTwo specimens for fatigue testing shall be taken from each end of the parent plate in the long transverse grain direction. These specimens are to be removed from the T/2, W/2 location. Fatigue testing shall be conduct
33、ed in air at 70 F + 5 F (21 C + 3 C) with a relative humidity of 30 to 50% using a frequency of 10 to 50 Hz. The test specimens shall meet the following requirements:4.3.2.1 Fatigue Specimen DesignFatigue samples shall be machined to ASTM E466, Figure 1. The specimen shall have a 0.500 inch (12.70 m
34、m) gage diameter, a 2.00 inch (50.80 mm) gage section, and 3.0 inch (76.20 mm) fillet radius. The grip section may be varied to fit different grip configurations, but should have no less than a 1.0 inch (25.4 mm) diameter.4.3.2.2 Fatigue Specimen FinishingFatigue samples shall be longitudinally sand
35、ed to produce a fine satin finish of 16 Ra microinch (0.4 micrometer) or better. A medium grit emery paper shall be used to remove transverse machining marks, followed by progressively finer emery papers. Light oil may be used as a lubricant. The use of an automated polishing system is highly recomm
36、ended. An equivalent procedure can be used provided it can be demonstrated that it gives equivalent results to those obtained using the above method. Specimens shall be degreased and cleaned prior to testing.4.4 ReportsThe vendor of plate shall furnish with each shipment a report stating that the pl
37、ate conforms to the chemical composition, tensile properties, electrical conductivity, fatigue resistance (when specified), ultrasonic inspection (when specified), and tolerances and showing the numerical results of tests on each inspection lot to determine conformance to the other acceptance test r
38、equirements. This report shall include the purchase order number, inspection lot number(s), AMS4364, size, and quantity. The report shall also identify the producer, the mill product form, and the size of the mill product.4.4.1 When the product size is outside the range covered by Table 2, the repor
39、t shall contain a statement to that effect.4.5 Resampling and RetestingShall be in accordance with AMS2355.SAE INTERNATIONAL AMS4364 Page 6 of 65. PREPARATION FOR DELIVERY5.1 IdentificationShall be in accordance with ASTM B666/B666M.5.2 Packaging5.2.1 Product shall be protected from damage during st
40、orage and shipment by a method determined by vendor unless specified by purchaser. Examples of typical protective methods include but are not limited to interleaving with paper or oiling of the surfaces.5.2.2 Plate shall be prepared for shipment in accordance with ASTM B660 and in compliance with ap
41、plicable rules and regulations pertaining to the handling, packaging, and transportation of the plate to ensure carrier acceptance and safe delivery.6.
