28、dIntroduction The system Standard, of which this is Part 2, specifies the requirements for a multilayer piping system. The multilayer piping system is intended to be used for hot and cold water installations inside buildings. In respect of potential adverse effects on the quality of water intended f

29、or human consumption, caused by the product covered by this standard: This Standard provides no information as to whether the product may be used without restriction in any of the Member States of the EU or EFTA; It should be noted that, while awaiting the adoption of verifiable European criteria, e

30、xisting national regulations concerning the use and/or the characteristics of this product stay in force. Requirements and test methods for material and components, other than pipes, are specified in ISO 21003-1 and ISO 21003-3 of the ISO 21003-series. Characteristics for fitness for purpose (mainly

31、 for joints) are covered in 21003-5. CEN ISO/TS 21003-7 gives guidance for the assessment of conformity. This part of ISO 21003 specifies the characteristics of pipes. At the date of publication of this standard, System Standards for piping systems of plastics materials used for the same application

33、side buildings Part 2: Pipes 1 Scope This part of ISO 21003 specifies the characteristics of pipes for multilayer piping systems intended to be used for hot and cold water installations inside buildings for the conveyance of water whether or not intended for human consumption (domestic systems) and

34、for heating systems, under design pressures and temperatures appropriate to the class of application (see Table 1 of ISO 21003-1). It also specifies the test parameters for the test methods referred to in this standard. Part 2 of the ISO 21003-series is one part of a reference product standard. This

35、 series is applicable to multilayer pipes, fittings, their joints and to joints with components of other plastics and non-plastics materials intended to be used for hot and cold water installations in conjunction with all other parts of ISO 21003. This standard covers a range of service conditions (

36、application classes) and design pressures. For values of T D , T maxand T malin excess of those in Table 1, this standard does not apply NOTE It is the responsibility of the purchaser or specifier to make the appropriate selections from these aspects, taking into account their particular requirement

37、s and any relevant national regulations and installation practices or codes. The polymeric materials used for the stress designed layers are the following: polybutylene (PB), polyethylene of raised temperature resistance (PE-RT), crosslinked polyethylene (PE-X), polypropylene (PP) and chlorinated po

38、ly(vinyl chloride) (PVC-C). NOTE For the purpose of this International Standard crosslinked polyethylene (PE-X) as well as adhesives are to be considered as thermoplastic materials. PE-X shall be crosslinked and shall comply with the requirements of the reference product standard. NOTE Solid wall pi

39、pes with thin outer layers (e.g. as a protection layer or a barrier layer) are not covered by ISO 21003 but are specified in the amendments of the ISO1587x-series. The total thickness of the outer layers, including the thickness of adhesives, barrier and/or protective layers, shall be 0.4 mm. 2 Norm
