、CTION 1 1.1 General Description 2 This chapter defines requirements for support of high speed packet data transmission 3 capability on cdma20001spread spectrum systems. Packet data transmission is 4 supported on cdma2000 Traffic Channels using primary or secondary traffic. For packet 5 data transmis

、sion on traffic channels using Service Option 33 or Service Option 66, the 6 Radio Link Protocol Type 3 specified in C.S0017-0-2.10 is used. 7 This standard specifies a packet data bearer service for communication between terminal 8 equipment and a packet data serving node (PDSN) via a base station/

、packet control 9 function (BS/PCF). 10 Packet data service options provide a means of establishing and maintaining Traffic 11 Channels for packet data service. Service Option 33 and Service Option 66 are used to 12 request packet data service through a PDSN supporting an Internet standard Point-to-P

、oint 13 Protocol (PPP) interface to network layer protocols (see 4.1). Additional packet data service 14 options may be defined in future revisions to select other types of PDSN resources or 15 services. 16 1.2 Terms 17 Auxiliary Service Instance. A packet data service instance that is not used to p

、erform 18 PPP negotiation (see 19). An auxiliary service instance uses service option number 66. 19 Base Station (BS). A fixed station used for communicating with mobile stations. 20 Depending upon the context, the term base station may refer to a cell, a sector within a 21 cell, or other part of th

See Common Channel Packet Data. 26 Common Channel Packet Data. A mode of operation in which the MS and BS only use 27 Short Data Bursts transmitte

、d on common channels to exchange packet data. This mode 28 can be used only while the mobile stations packet data service call control function is in 29 the Dormant State. A mobile station will request a direct-to-dormant transition if it intends 30 to use Common Channel Packet Data. 31 Data Circuit

、 Terminating Equipment (DCE). A DCE connects a DTE to the network. A 32 typical DCE would be a V-series modem. 33 1cdma2000 is the trademark for the technical nomenclature for certain specifications and standards of the Organizational Partners (OPs) of 3GPP2.
