4、r,before,till/until等来引导的时间状语从句。 It will be four days before they come back. 他们要过四天才能回来。,2.名词短语引导的时间状语从句。 可以引导时间状语从句的名词短语有:the moment,the minute,the instant,each time,every time,next time等。 The children ran away from the orchard the moment they saw the guard. 孩子们一见到看管人就从果园里跑开了。,3.其他连词引导的时间状语从句。 immed

5、iately,instantly,directly,as soon as,no sooner.than.,hardly/barely/scarcely.when.等引导时间状语从句,表示“一就”。no sooner.than.,hardly.when.引导的表示时间的句子,从句用一般过去时,主句用过去完成时。当no sooner,hardly位于句首时,主句要用部分倒装。 The young lady rushed into the room immediately she heard the noise. 那位年轻女士一听到响声就冲进了房间。 Hardly had he reached ho

6、me when it began to rain. 他刚到家,天就开始下雨了。,二、让步状语从句 1.由though,although,as,even if,even though,while引导的让步状语从句。 (1)although引导的让步状语从句不倒装。 (2)as引导让步状语从句时,从句的表语、状语或谓语中的实义动词需提前至句首,如果表语是带冠词的名词,冠词需要省略。 (3)though引导的让步状语从句可以倒装也可以不倒装,倒装时用法同as。此外though还可用作副词,常置于句末,意为“可是,不过,然而”。,Although its raining,they are still

8、e,as,seeing that,now (that),in that,considering that,for the reason that等。 Now that youre here,why not have a drink? 既然你来了,为什么不喝一杯呢? 2.because,as,for,since辨析 (1)because语气最强,表示不知道的原因时用because,即说话人认为听话人不知道,因此because从句是全句最重要的部分,通常它被置于主句之后。下列情况下只能使用because:在回答why的问句时;在用于强调句型时;被not所否定时。,He was absent fro

9、m school because he was ill. 他没去上学,因为他病了。 (2)for的语气不及because,since,as强,为并列连词,引导的分句常放在主句之后,从句前通常用逗号,表示说话者为所做的推断和预测提供理由,或对前一分句进行补充和解释。如果不是因果关系,而是对前面主句的内容加以解释或推断时,只能用for。 We should be more careful,for it is already dark. 天已黑了,我们应更小心些。,(3)表示已经知道的原因时用as或since,即某种原因在说话人看来已经很明显,或已为听话人所熟悉,因此它是句中不太重要的部分。sinc

12、cellent speech that everyone admired him. 他做了个如此精彩的演讲以至于每个人都崇拜他。 (2)当so或such置于句首时,主句用部分倒装。 Such a good boy is he that we all love him. 他是那么好的一个孩子,我们都喜欢他。,such,a/an adj.可数名词单数 adj.可数名词复数或不可数名词,that.,五、目的状语从句 1.常见的连接词:so that,in order that,for fear that,in case等。 Take an umbrella with you for fear tha
