It meant that school and my personal dream would have to wait. Then I got married with another dream: buildin

20、g my family with a combination of adopt(收养 ) and biological children. In 1999, we adopted our first son. To lay eyes on him was fantastic-and very emotional. A year later came our second adopted boy. Then followed son No. 3. In 2003, I gave birth to another boy. You can imagine how fully occupied I

21、became, raising four boys under the age of 8. Our home was a complete zoo-a joyous zoo. Not surprising, I never did make it back to college full-time. But I never gave up on the dream either. I had only one choice: to find a way. That meant taking as few as one class each semester. The hardest part

22、was feeling guilty about the time I spent away from the boys. They often wanted me to stay home with them. There certainly were times I wanted to quit, But I knew I should set an example for them to follow through the rest of their lives. In 2007, I graduated from the University of North Carolina. I

23、t took me over 21 years to get my college degree! I am not special, just single-minded. It always struck me that when youre looking at a big challenge from the outside it looks huge, but when youre in the midst of it, it just seems normal. 40、ds gathered in the area close to where I would land while I headed up in the airplane. My instructor, Jay, guided me through the experience. The plane was the noisiest one I had ever been in, but I wasnt frightenedI was really just looking forward to the experience. When we reached 13,000 feet, Jay

41、instructed me to throw myself out of the plane. When we first hit the air, the wind was so strong that I could hardly breathe. For a second I thought, “What have I gotten myself into ” But then everything got calmer. We were in a free fall for about a minute before Jay opened the parachute(降落伞) , th

42、en we just floated downward for about five minutes. Being up in the clouds and looking at the view below was unlike anything I have ever feltmuch better than the hot air balloon. I was just enjoying it. Skydiving was really one of the greatest experiences of my life. I hope other people will look at
