REQUIREMENTS 3.1 The requirements specified in AF Drawing 48520090 are applicable as requirements

AN or MIL Standard parts shall be used wherever they are suitable for the purpose, and shall be i
13、dentified by their part numbers. Commercial utility parts such as screws, bolts, nuts, cotter pins, et cetera, may be used, provided they have suitable properties and are replaceable by the AN or MIL Standard parts without alteration and provided the corresponding AN of MIL part numbers are referenc
14、ed on the drawings and in the parts lists. applications for which no suitable corresponding AN or MIL part is in effect on date of invitation for bids, commercial parts may be used provided they conform to all requirements of this specification. In 3.3 Design and construction. The maintenance platfo
15、rm shall be designed and constructed so that no parts will work loose in service. withstand the strains, jars, vibrations, and other conditions incident to shipping, storage installation, and service. It shall be built to 3.3.1 The maintenance platform shall be constructed so that adjustments and re
16、pairs can be easily made by the personnel of operation units and overhaul bases 3.4 Identification of product. Equipment, assemblies, and parts shall be marked for identification in accordance with MIL-STD-130. 3.5 Workmanship. The maintenance platform, including all parts and accessories, shall be
17、constructed and finished in a thoroughly workmanlike manner. marking of parts and assemblies, welding and brazing, painting, riveting, machine-screw assemblies, and freedom of parts from burrs and sharp edges. Particular attention shall be given to neatness and thoroughness of 4. QUALITY ASSURANCE P
18、ROVISIONS 4.1 Responsibility for inspection. Unless otherwise specified in the contract or purchase order, the supplier is responsible for the performance of all inspection requirements as specified herein. the supplier may utilize his own facilities or any commercial laboratory accep- table to the
19、Government. The Government reserves the right to perform any of the inspections set forth in the specification where such inspections are deemed necessary to assure supplies and services conform to prescribed requirements. Except as otherwise specified, 4.2 Classification of tests. The inspection an
20、d testing of the platform shall be classified as acceptance tests. 4.3 Acceptance tests. Acceptance tests shall consist of: a. Individual tests. b. Sampling tests. 4.3.1 Individual tests. Each maintenance platform shall be subjected to the following test: 4.3.1 Examination of product. Each maintenan

22、4.3.2 Sampling tests. The first 3 maintenance platforms on the order, and one maintenance platform from each lot of 25 or fraction thereof on the order shall be selected at random and subjected to the following tests: 4.3.2.1 A lot shall consist of the maintenance platforms manufactured under essent
23、itally the same conditions, of the same material, and submitted for inspection at subsetantially the same time. 4.3.2.2 Rejection and retest. When one or more maintenance platforms form a lot fail to meet the specification, acceptance of all items in the lot shall be withheld until the extent and ca
24、use of failure have been determined. The contractor shall explain fully to the government representative the cause of failure and the action taken to preclude recurrence, the sampling tests shall be repeated. After correction all of 4.3.2.3 Individual test may continue. For production reasons, indiv
25、idual test or other sampling plans may be continued pending the investigation of a sampling test failure. But final acceptance of the entire lot or lots produced later (or items on hand or items produced later) shall not be made until it is determined that all items meet all the requirements of the
26、specification. 4.3.3 Defects in items already accepted. The investigation of a test failure could indicate that defects may exist in items already accepted. the contractor shall fully advise the procuring activity of all the defects likely to be found and the methods of correcting them. If so, 4.4 T

The rate of settling of the piston shall not exceed 0.02 inch per hour. 4.4.2 Each step of the maintenance platform shall be individually tested with a static load of 400 pounds at or near the center of the step. deflection of each step under the load shall not exceed 1/4 i

PACKAGING 5.1 Preservation. Preservation shall be level A, C or Commercial as spe-
32、cified (see 6.2). 5.1.1 Disassembly and matchmarking. Disassembly shall be the minimum necessary to safeguard parts known to be subject to damage, loss or breakage in transit and to accomplish reduction in cube. Bolts, nuts, screws, pins, washers and other attaching parts removed shall be reinstalle
33、d in one of the mating parst and secured to prevent their loss. reassembly, parts removed and mating parts shall be matchmarked. Matchmarking shall be printed on shipping tags conforming to UU-T-81, Type A. tags shall be waterproofed in accordance with MIL-STD-129. When necessary to facilitate The p
