37、e tests. This protocol determines the parameters that can support field system performance and confidence in successful shearing and sealing. This document is not intended to be used for qualifying BOP shear rams or as a factory acceptance test (FAT) procedure. Qualification and FAT of BOP shear ram

41、nitions shall apply. 3.1.1 blind shear ram Closing and sealing component in a ram blowout preventer that first shears the tubular in the wellbore and then seals off the bore or acts as a blind ram if there is no tubular in the wellbore. 3.1.2 closing ratio Area of the operator piston exposed to the
42、closing operating pressure, divided by the cross-sectional area of the piston shaft exposed to the wellbore pressure. 3.1.3 non-sealing shear ram Closing component in a ram blowout preventer that is capable of shearing or cutting certain tubulars, but does not seal. 1ASTM International, 100 Barr Har

NOTE Depending on the operator design, the shear and seal areas may or may not be equal. 3.1.6 shear pressure Minimum hydraulic pressure applied to the ram operator that is sufficient to cut the intended “tubular.” 3.1.7 stabilization State in which the pr
45、essure change rate has decreased to within documented acceptance criteria. 47、ounds per square inch BOP SHEAR RAM PERFORMANCE TEST PROTOCOL 3 4 Test Equipment 4.1 General Information to support the traceability of the test equipment and test specimens is essential and shall be recorded, as noted below, prior to each test. The required documentation of the BOP is described in
48、Section 9 and the example data sheet in Annex A. 4.2 Blowout Preventer (BOP) The following items shall be recorded for the blowout preventer (BOP) being used for the shear tests: assembly part number, serial number, and revision level; manufacturer; description; size (bore) (in.); rated working pres
49、sure (psi). 4.3 BOP Operator The following items shall be recorded for the BOP operator: type; operator part number, serial number, and revision level; rated hydraulic working pressure (psi); piston closing (shear) area (in2); piston closing (seal) area (in2); piston rod area (in2); piston opening area (in2). NOTE Depending on the operator design, the shear and seal areas may or may not be equal. 4.4 Shear Ram The following items shall be recorded for the BOP shear rams being used for the shear tests: manufacturer of shear rams; manufacturer of shear ram se
