SCOPE * 1.1 Scope. This specifi

Bayonet-knives shall con- form to the materials, construction and design specified herein, on Drawi
11、ng D7160944, D7267810, D7267616, D11010077 and D11686400 as applicable, and in MIL-W-13855. * 3.2.1 Handpips. The handgrips shall be securely attached to the blade handle by screws so that there is no relative movement between the blade handle and the handgrips. 3.2.2 Latching mechanism. * 3.2.2.1 B
12、ayonet-knife, M5A1 and M6. The latching mechanism shall function without binding throughout its full range of travel. depressed, the latching hooks shall not protrude above the track surfaces. 14、e outside of the housing. When fully de- pressed the catch spring housing shall not protrude above the surface of the pommel. * 3.2.2.3 Bayonet-knife, M4 and M7. Right and left hand bayonet releases shall rotate about their respective pins throughout the full range of travel without binding. When fu
15、lly depressed, the catch hooks shall not protrude above the plate “TI1 slot surfaces. When fully re- leased, the catches shall return to their fully extended position under spring action. * 3.3 Performance. * 3.3.1 Assembleability. Bayonet-knives shall be capable of being assembled to the applicable
16、 weapon without manually depressing the latching lever; shall be securely retained after assembly, and shall be readily detached when the latching lever is manually depressed. as specified in 4.5,3.2. Testing shall be * 3.3.2 Resiliency. Bayonet-knives shall be capable of withstanding the following

The torque shall be applied in both clockwise and counter clockwise directions. * 3.3.5 Withdrawal. Bayonet-knives shall be capable of withstanding a gradually applied longitudinal tensile
24、 load of 250 pounds without fracture, permanent deformation, loosening of any parts, or detaching from a contractor designed, Government approved, fixture simulating the applicable weapon. Unless otherwise specified on the drawings, all parts shall be interchangeable between similar items, assembly operations there shall be no objections to preferential assembly of parts provided that all parts are dimensionally acceptable.) shall be as specified

28、or purchase order, the supplier is responsible for the per- formance of all inspection requirements as specified herein. 29、 the supplier may use his own or any other facilities suitable for the performance of the inspection requirements specified herein, unless disapproved by the Government. the right to perform any of the inspections set forth in the specification where such inspections are deemed necessary to assure t
30、hat supplies and services conform to prescribed requirements. The Government reserves 4.2 Quality assurance terms and definitions. Quality assurance terms and definitions used herein are in accordance with MIL-STD-109. * 4.3 Classification of inspection. The inspection requirements specified herein
31、are classified as follows: a. First article inspection (see 4.4). b. Quality conformance inspection (see 4.5). * 4.4 First article inspection. The first article (initial product-on unit(s) shall be submitted for inspection in accordance with the contract (see 6.2). The first article shall be represe
32、ntative of the production processes to be used during quantity production. be subjectea to the quality conformance inspection specified herein and such other inspections as necessary to determine that all requirements of the contract have been met., The first article shall 4.5 Quality conformance in
33、spection. * 4.5.1 Inspection lot. The formation, size, and presentation of inspection lots of bayonet-knives, and parts, shall be in accordance with MILSTIblOS and MIL-w-13855 . of component parts that have met all inspection requirements specified herein. 34、 4.5.2 Examination. * 4.5.2.1 Component parts and concurrent repair parts. 38、a failure analysis study performing a dimensional physical and visual examination of the components which are suspected to be the cause of failure or malfunction. b. Evaluate and correct the applicable production processes and procedures to prevent recurrence of the same defect(s) c, Examine bayonet
39、-knives, partially assembled bayonet-knives and components (including components and subassemblies at in-process or-final assembly) to insure that material con- taining+the same defect is purged from the inventory and not presented to the Government for acceptance. Submit the results of the failure
40、analysis and the corrective 1 actions taken to the Government for review and approval prior to submitting a reconditioned lot or reconditioned bayonet-knife for retest. in future production. /- d. * 4.5.3.2 Assembleability testinq. Samples of bayonet-knives shall be taken from each inspection lot in
41、 accordance with MIL-STD-105 and tested for assembleability (see 3.3.2) using the test method specified in 4.6.1. Acceptance shall be based on an AQL of 0.65 percent defective. * 4.5.3.3 Resiliency testing. Five bayonet-knives assembled with blades from each days heat treat production shall be teste
42、d for resiliency (see 3.3.2) using the test method specified in 4.6.2. furnaces are. used, samples of blades shall be taken so that all heat treat batches are represented. Any bayonet-knife failing to meet the require- ments shal1,cause rejection of the represented blade production. At the discretio

Ten bayonet-hives from each days production shall be tested for impact (see 3.3.3), twist (see 3.3.4), withdrawal (see 3.3.5), and sharpness (see 3.3.6), using t
46、he test methods specified in 4.6.3, 4.6.4, 4.6.5 and 4.6.6 respectively. cause for rejection of the represented lot. Failure of any bayonet to meet the requirements shall be * 4.5,3.5 Interchangeability testing. * 4.5.3.5.1 Bayonet-knives. Ten bayonet-knives from each inspection lot shall be tested
47、for interchangeability (see 3.4) using the test method specified in 4.6.7. All bayonet-knives assembled from interchanged parts shall be tested for assembleability requirements using the test method specified in 4.6.1. Hand refinement of parts will be allowed on not more than two bayonet-knives duri
48、ng interchange of parts provided that no part is altered beyond drawing-requirements. Failure of bayonet-knives to meet the requirements of the interchangeability test or failure of any bayonet- knife to-meet the requirements of .the assembleability test shall be cause for retest or rejection of the
49、 represented lot. At the discretion of the Government representative, an interchangeability retest may be allowed without reconditioning the lot of bayonet-knives. Failure in the retest shall cause rejection of the represented lot subject to reconditioning and further test as a reconditioned lot. A sample of 20 bayonet-knives from each retest or reconditioned lot shall be tested using the same procedure described above, except that hand
